"Gorgeous hotel with lovely, polite & enthusiastic staff! We were upgraded to a fabulous suite & the parking options were great. We loved this unique boutique hotel which has been decorated & designed with care & passion. Local transport was brilliant & Southsea is a hidden blossoming gem which we’ll be back to see next year! We will of course be checking back in to the Clarence or one of its sisters. Thank you for making our stay so memorable x"

"This hotel was in a great location for all we wanted to see while in Portsmouth. The coach and rail are both walkable and the Victory and other museums were closeby. The Gunwharf Quays are within walking distance too for shopping and food.
The hotel was okay for the price. Our room wasn't the cleanest and there was mold in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet left much to be desired but maybe would have been better if we were there for the start of it.
The staff were very friendly and overall...

Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Hotel service very good, friendly staff, great breakfast choices and easy to get about locally. However bed was terrible, felt like springs broken and could not sleep very well."
"Room warm and clean. Bed comfortable. Parking was ok, but could be an issue, at busy times. I have stayed here on several occasions and never disappoints. I believe value for money."
"Staff was friendly, rooms were large and stocked with everything we could possibly need for a 1 night stay. Our host gave us a quick tour, and took time to provide information and answer questions. Truly enjoyed the comfort that was provided, the easy food options just down the road."
"Staff are always very friendly and it is ideally situated with a great view of the sea. Shops are nearby as well as close location to sites. Every time I come down to the area I stay here due to suitability for my needs and also parking availability "
