"Lovely hotel spread across a number of buildings near the seafront. Easily walkable to the beach. The rooms were lovely and the food in the restaurant was excellent "

Holiday Inn Portsmouth by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"Ideal base to explore Southsea and the historic dockyard.
Breakfast was really good, but the coffee and the queue for it was disappointing."
"Great location for the Dockyards, Gunwharf Quays, and Spinnaker Tower. Reasonable walk (1mile) to Old Portsmouth and the remaining Bastion. A couple of pubs close by and the hotel bar is very pleasant. "
"This is a very well renovated B&B with nice amenities like a smart TV, kettle for tea and coffee, and a super comfortable bed. The entrance to the hotel and rooms is controlled by an electronic code. There is a modest continental breakfast on offer with the option for boiled eggs and a sausage or bacon sandwich. The waterfront is a short walk away and the historic dockyards are about a 20-minute walk. The room was quiet and had a chiller fan. You could also open the windows for fresh air. We arrived a few hours before check in, and because there was no staff on site until 3pm, we had to keep our luggage with us. "
Holiday Inn Express Portsmouth - Gunwharf Quays by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"My first stay at Gunwharf Holiday Inn. Lovely cozy hotel. Close to all restaurants, railway station and outlet shopping.
Hotel was clean, neat and tidy. The air conditioning wasn’t working but the staff accommodated us with 3 table fans . The weather was quite pleasant, so didn’t mind the air conditioning not working. Breakfast options were very good too.
Will definitely be visiting the hotel in the summer.

"I had a great experience here! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made me feel right at home. The place was also spotless—very clean and well-maintained. Highly recommend!"
"The location is great. The insulation is very poor, i could hear the neighbours room the noise from the TV. The mattress is terrible, needs replacing as it was a little lumpy and bump so I couldn't get a good night's sleep for 3 days. The room was ok, the bathroom was very small just enough room for a shower and a toilet. It is walkable distance to the main historical area, the defence walls, the beautifu houses and the pubs on Spice Island so that was a bonus."
