"The room was disgusting! I went down and told them we had no towels or toilet paper in our room & asked to switch rooms because we couldn't adjust our unit from cool to heat or the temperature. She sent maintenance up to fix the heat WHEN WE WENT TO GET DINNER. We showered with our flip flops on because of the filthy shower pan. The sink had hairs and boogers in it. We slept in our car because roaches were everywhere when we turned the light on (i took pictures) and the bed sheets had blood specs, like bedbugs do. The walls and door were just filthy! On top of that, they say at check in there is a noise ordinance after 10pm, and base was thumping at 12am and yelling half threw the night in the parking lot. Not aplace for a nice couple or even kids. There was a woman working a room. Every other hr or so she would change clothes and redo her makeup and a different guy was in and out her room, even the next morning. If the staff paid better attention to the surroundings and did something about it, and the house keepers cared more about cleaning, it wouldnt be bad at all...especially for the price."

"Stayed here while visiting College of Charleston (about 15 mins away by car). Loved the property and room! Breakfast was wonderful. The hotel is in a cluster with other similarly nice hotels, however, it is also super close (walking distance) from so NOT so nice "hotels" where there appears to be a lot of shady activity. That said-the hotel is secured at night (front doors lock at 9 and access only by keycard - this was casually noted by staff without prompting at check in and later in the evening while venturing out for food, it clicked as to why) and we always felt safe and enjoyed our stay at this property. "

"It was the perfect location to hop on a 7:15 am flight home. Front desk was friendly and helpful and accommodating with a couple of baseball teams staying in same hotel. Shuttle was right on time and great service."

"If you want to remove coffee maker from room you should mention at check in that you can get one at the front desk. It would be honest. Who wouldn't love to lug all that to their room with their luggage etc? BTW the new autmated push-button coffee maker in the lobby doesn't taste any better than in room coffee. Guess we're done with HI Express. "
