All the staff were excellent and very dog friendly. My only complaint was although I had asked for a ground floor room due to problems with my knees this was not available and I had to manage the stairs which was difficult. On the whole à very pleasant break"

Especially on both sides of the door near the table tennis. The communal spa changing rooms are not everyone's 'cup of tea' It would appear that the reception computer could do with an update as it took some time to recognize our booking NB The hotel is on the main A591 at the Cockermouth turning. If using the post code Sat Nav will send you to the remote Bassenthwaite village."

"The hotel is easy to find and parking is not a problem. The staff are very welcoming and registration was simple and efficient. The room I had was massive, and very comfortable. Warm . The only drawback was the noise from the street outside all night long. However, the hotel does prove earplugs which I could have used. The breakfasts were first class, it's very rare to get a hot breakfast from a buffet style restaurant. But they have mastered it, The rooms themselves were warm, clean and comfortable, but a little tired. With patches of carpet a but bare... But then , the price of the room is definitely budget and still very well worth it. I hope to be back."
