The hotel is in a good location. The staff is not overly friendly, but that’s also how people in NYC are. The rooms are very small which is also typical of NYC. Great hot water pressure in the shower. I just wish the bathroom had a fan. I would give this place 7.5/10.

Fantastic location at a fair price. We booked a superior room and found there was plenty of space. Location is amazing. There is a bus stop right there to take you down Madison to Museum Row ($3) and you can walk one block to 5th for a bus to Battery Island. Front desk and staff were helpful and not too pushy for tips. We were able to leave bags after checkout as we had a late flight. Getting there from JFK for the budget traveler was easy. Airtran to Jamaica Station ($8.75/pp) and then Long Island Railroad to Grand Central ($5.75/pp). Took about 40 mins. Then walk 4 blocks from 42nd to 38th which was not too tricky.

Such a beautiful hotel. The Christmas decoration at the hotel made this trip feel so festive for us would definitely be returning to this stay in future trips. My husband and I always have the best experience at NH Collection. From the moment you’re greeted at the door to the smooth check-in process, everyone is incredibly friendly, kind, respectful, and genuinely happy to help. Some of the staff even remembered us from two years ago when we got engaged during our stay, and they went out of their way to make this visit just as memorable. The rooms are spotless, and the bar and restaurant are fantastic. The buffet breakfast in the mornings is absolutely amazing. The hotel itself is beautiful, and NH Collection will always be our go-to place whenever we visit New York.
