"Rooms were spacious, clean and had beautiful views of Chania! The breakfast buffet was a real highlight with the range of food and the staff were so helpful. Great facilities such as onsite car rental and gym. Great free shuttle which helped us a lot.
At times there was a lot of noise coming from the upstairs restaurant which wouldn’t stop until 12am. Rooms could’ve been soundproofed."

"Highly recommend staying at Alcanea. Eva, our host, was incredibly helpful and friendly. The staff/service was great. And the complimentary breakfast offered lots of local options and all were delicious. Best part of this stay was the view and location. The view of the port was awesome with the water, local bars/shops, and mountains in the distance. And there were dozens of restaurants and shops offering all we might need/want. This hotel made Chania feel like home."

Chrysopigi Monastery is just one of the places to see in Nerokouros, so why not enjoy the other things to explore during your travels? Amble around this culturally rich area's waterfront and enjoy its lively bars.
The hotel is located quite a bit out Chania town but is in a beautiful and quite location with stunning views. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus between the town (in the car park next to the market place) and the hotel. I suggest you contact the hotel before your arrival to organise a transfer with the free bus! Don’t waste time or money on taxis or local busses! The day trips organised through the hotel are also great! Definitely head to Elafonisi beach!

The place was pristine and easy to find. The Check in process was a little awkward as we did not realise there was no onsite reception. We had to do some ringing around before we got someone, they said they had sent infomation via booking .com ,( as we were with Hotels .com , that didnt work) and we did not recieve any. But we resolved this .

The was a fantasic hotel. The service from the staff was exceptional. I could highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Aristea the breakfast staff person was delightful. Her smiling face each morning would start your day off on the track. The front desk staff could not be more helpful. Excellent stay 10/10.

Malmo is a great location for a stay in Chania. Old town Chania is beautiful and carries a lot of charm, and Malmo lets you access everything with a short walk. The windows are double-glazed to block out almost all noise. The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean. The buffet breakfast is located on a rooftop balcony, with a small but choice selection of foods to enjoy in the quiet morning sun.

Beautiful location. Ensuite very very small and old but the overall satisfaction with the hotel outweighed this. Great staff of Maria and Virginia. Really enjoyed our stay.

Everything was incredible from the moment we arrived. Early check in was available, the team arranged parking for our car. Had dinner both nights at the restaurant and can’t fault the food, my chef partner loved everything on the menu. Staff were so attentive and lovely.
Good location if you’re looking for somewhere slightly out of town, a little quieter. Only a 20ish minute walk into old town.

The best area to stay in Nerokouros is the area around the Agia Lake, particularly for those seeking a tranquil retreat with easy access to nature.
This area is characterised by its peaceful, rural setting, offering a quiet escape from the bustle of city life. The lake itself is a significant feature, known for its wildlife and walking paths. You'll find a selection of villas and guesthouses scattered amidst olive groves and citrus orchards, providing a sense of seclusion while still being a short drive from Chania town.
Couples looking for a romantic and private getaway will find this area particularly appealing. The natural beauty of the lake and its surroundings, combined with the opportunity for relaxed strolls and quiet evenings, creates an idyllic setting. Many accommodations here offer private pools and stunning views, great for unwinding together.
Families with young children will also appreciate the calm and open spaces around Agia Lake. The lack of heavy traffic and the presence of nature allow children to play freely and safely.
When is the best time to go to Nerokouros?
The best time to go to Nerokouros is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June and again from September to October.

You'll find that many local businesses are fully open, and the atmosphere is relaxed, providing a more authentic experience.
For those looking to enjoy the beaches and water activities, the summer months of July and August are also suitable, though it can be quite hot and more crowded.
