"I truly enjoyed my stay here! While at first I was a bit concerned it was on the "other" side of the station away from the town of Lugano the property had many redeeming features, like beautiful grounds and a lovely breakfast, that made it worth it. Yes there is some noise from the trains and you have to walk across the train parking lot to get there but it felt like a little oasis above Lugano and was a really pleasant stay. The pool, the bar, the restaurant were all nice and the room was very clear and cool (with AC) that was welcome for a hot September stay. Getting to and from the main part of Lugano by furnicular was a breeze. I'm glad I chose to stay here!"

"This guy s such a gem of a hotel! Love the old world charm & character, even though it’s a common complaint. It could use a bit of an update. The balcony was wonderful, as well as breakfast. The room was tiny compared to what advertised, also the A/C being turned off for good at this time year is a real head scratcher. Word of advice, we noticed the windows in the stairway were open, so we propped open the door to stairwell & kept the chain on the open door for air flow. I do agree on those weird foam pillows. Another tip, since it was still pretty warm in the room, we pulled the comforter out of the duvet, then put the folded up comforter in an extra pillow case & used it as a pillow. The duvet cover by itself was perfect. Would recommend this hotel for the hearty budget traveler. The view of the lake from the room is just epic."

"The bathroom in our room needs to be updated. There is no walk-in shower, the towels are old and not soft, and the double sink vanity is old with no storage space."
