"The location was great for us as we’d travelled for several hours to see the partial eclipse, planet alignment and milky way ‘show’ in August 2026 and this accommodation was just a few miles away from where we need. There was a warm, friendly welcome and our room was ready for us when we arrived. Our room was quite warm as it was in the middle of a heatwave, although the lovely lady who checked us in swopped our room to the coolest available. There was coffee and tea in the room and both the bedroom and the bathroom were very clean, looking as if they had been recently decorated. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was lovely and well priced. There was a fairly wide choice for breakfast, including ‘Full English’ and ‘Smashed Avocado with poached Eggs’. All yummy! This pub is in a quiet village, with the clip clip of horses from time to time. Very calming and peaceful. It has a car park and so any vehicles are safely off the road. We would recommend and would be happy to return."

Conditions are also ideal for a trip on the West Somerset Railway, a heritage steam railway offering scenic journeys through the countryside.Families often find July and August particularly appealing, as this coincides with school holidays and a full calendar of local events and attractions.
