The hotel is recently renovated and it feels new inside, while also being a historic landmark. It is conveniently located and there are all kinds of eating options around. This is the most bustling part of South Beach, so do yourself a favor and buy some earplugs at the Walgreens around the corner. Be aware that you will get charged an additional $27 "Resort" fee that will get you a couple of water bottles a day, access to the hotel's bicycles (which I do recommend you use early in the morning), beach towels and access to beach chairs. You can't get out of that charge. One particular thing that I didn't like about my room was that the bed was located under the air conditioning vents, which is uncomfortable at night. Especially, because if you turn it off the heat is suffocating, so I had to sleep with my pillow at the foot of the bed. I would suggest admins to turn the room around and place the bed where the tv is now. I don't know if all rooms are like that and, in all fairness, I did not ask the front desk staff, who would have certainly tried to help out if I had brought it up. Perhaps switch rooms or something. Lastly, the staff is very cordial and always willing to help. I definitely recommend the hotel. I had a day for myself after attending a wedding and got well rested and invigorated before traveling back home the next day. The bike rides were particularly lovely. Will probably come back.
