"This property was comfortable, welcoming, and beautifully maintained, but what made our stay truly unforgettable went beyond the amenities. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely cared for. The home reflects a quiet sense of character, humility, faith, resilience, and love of country—qualities also evident in its gracious host. Thoughtful details throughout created an atmosphere that was both inspiring and comforting. Those who recognize service and sacrifice may find deeper meaning in the experience, but any guest is likely to leave with lasting gratitude, admiration, and respect. We will be back! "The front office staff is very kind, in exception of one new guy who was obviously new, but the staff is nice. The property needs an upgrade. The price is way too high to not take pride in the property and keep the furniture looking new at least by painting it. It is in a nice area with shops nearby. Keep the pool clean & update that outside furniture! I am a repeat customer & I will be back. I just hope the executives will spend the money to restore and update this place!"

"DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME NOR MONEY! the homeless run in an out of the property all day and all night, rooms smell like they’ve been getting smoked in since the 1500s, trash all over the parking lot, stained amenities, overall was a HORRIBLE experience. Lucky I have friends and family who live in Houston so I didn’t NEED to stay there! Very disappointed. If I could leave negative stars I would"

Their website needs to be updated with this information. Also the water in the shower was tempid not even warm. Other than that nicely decorated and staff friendly."

Modern 3 Bed 2.5 Bath Home in North Houston

"The biggest issue was the plumbing. Both downstairs toilets had issues which led to both of them being stopped up and basically out of commission for most of the stay. The owner was slow to respond and eventually sent someone to look at the toillets. They said they were fixed but when we returned to home that evening, they were not fixed. After the first flush, each toilet was backed up again. The master toilet (or shower) caused water to leak on the floor overnight. Fortunately, the upstairs bathroom and shower were nice and worked well. But it was difficult for 5 adult women to navigate with 2 toilets out of commission,. The downstairs shower was very small and old and though I think it was clean, it did not appear to be so due to age and staining. The house was mostly clean, but it definitely shows its age and wear and could use some repairs of cracks and water stains on ceiling, etc... The kitchen has super basic items but very cheap and random, The main frying pan was dented and very thin. There was no corkscrew to open wine. Be prepared if you rent this home. "

"A Beautiful Space with Hosts Who Truly Go Above and Beyond. Whispering Pines was the perfect setting for our women's retreat, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Our group of 26 women felt welcomed and at home from the moment we arrived. The home was clearly set up with intentionality, making a large group feel comfortable rather than cramped.The Space: The layout is ideal for big groups. There was plenty of room for everyone to gather, spread out, rest, and connect without feeling on top of each other. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped for group cooking, and the outdoor spaces gave us room to enjoy the surroundings together.The Decor and Amenities: The thoughtful touches throughout the home made a real difference. It did not feel like a generic rental. It felt curated and welcoming, which set the tone for our entire stay.A Note on the Grill: During our stay, the outdoor grill caught fire while in use, which unfortunately cost us three racks of beef ribs. No structural damage occurred, but we were understandably concerned about how the hosts would respond. They came out promptly to assess the situation, were calm and gracious throughout, and rather than charging us for grill replacement, they refunded us for the three racks of ribs we lost. That kind of fairness and generosity left a lasting impression on all 26 of us.Bottom Line: Whispering Pines is a phenomenal choice. The home delivers on every front. We will definitely be back"
