We recently stayed at the adults-only Heaven section at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya and overall, the resort itself was good. The property is beautiful, the atmosphere is fun, and the adults-only vibe made for a relaxing getaway. The room amenities were very nice, modern, and well maintained. Housekeeping did a great job keeping everything clean and refreshed during our stay. However, we were very disappointed with a major issue during our trip. We lost power from 2:00 AM until 5:30 PM for two out of the three days we were there. This significantly impacted our experience. With no electricity, we were limited on drinks, couldn’t properly use our room, had cold showers, no lights, and even had to get ready using a flashlight. To make matters worse, many of the restaurants were also closed due to the power outage, which greatly limited dining options during our stay. It was frustrating to lose so much usable time during such a short trip, especially when we were looking forward to enjoying everything the resort offers. While the resort overall has a lot of potential and the accommodations themselves were comfortable and clean, the extended power outages and resulting closures greatly affected our experience and overall enjoyment. We hope this was an isolated situation, as the property itself has the foundation for a truly great vacation.

The rooms, restaurants and property was spotless. The food was always amazing everywhere we went. The staff Alberto, Fernando, and Jan were fantastic and met all our needs during the stay.

Wonderful resort with excellent food!

El Dorado Maroma is one of if not the best all inclusive resorts I have been ever been to. The food was exceptional; the grounds and facilities were impeccable and all the staff was fantastic. My husband and I were also impressed by the quality of the musicians and entertainers that performed at the resort. The mexican party on the beach was really special and the mariachi band was outstanding. The included catamaran tour with snokeling on the nearby reef where we got to see an impressive amount of tropical fish and aquatic creatures like sea turtles and rays was one of the highlights of our stay. We also appreciated that it was easy to get seating anywhere on the grounds (around the pools and on the beach) without having to reserve a spot early in the day and the covered sun beds were available at no extra charge. The beach was beautiful and, although there was an obvious sargassum (seaweed) problem in the area, the resort cleaned the beach daily to remove most of it and minimize the impact the seaweed could have had on the enjoyment of the beach. The main pool was great although it could get quite loud at certain times of the day so having another quieter pool was nice. We particularly enjoyed the yoga sessions but were disappointed that they were not offered daily. My only complaint was that the fees for a massage or other treatments at the spa were very high (more than twice the price of a similar treatment back home) and this dissuaded us from using their services.
