"We have been coming to cedar lodge and we still like staying here. I like the convenience of having a restaurant, a pool, jacuzzi and a river to stroll which is just across the hotel. "Nice place to stay that is pretty close (8 miles) to Yosemite. The rooms are all on the second floor up an outside steep staircase if that is difficult for you. They have no front desk there so you have to check in at the Cedar Lodge down the street but that was no big deal. The room had a kitchenette of sorts with a hot plate, dishes etc but we didn’t realize that so didn’t take advantage of it. Friendly staff. Clean room. "

"We spent one night at the 5th Street Inn in Mariposa. The inn is a renovated historic home from all appearances. The bed was comfortable but the table was tiny and the chairs in the room were very hard. Avoid this property if you can't tolerate that or navigate steps up and down. The shower was functional but showed signs of damage to the faucet handle and a bit of mold. "We had a good trip. The house is as advertised. We had some minor plumbing issue that I am sure was fixed quickly. All appliances were in order and it was clean. You do have some other trailer type homes really close but other than that and the plumbing issues, not a bad place to stay if exploring yosemite area. It was very comfortable, warm, and quiet after a long day of hiking in the rain and cold. It's about an hour drive from the entrance to Yosemite National Park.
