"An interesting hotel with 70s-80s decore. A feeling of the past however with a view to the future with serious commitment to green credentials. A slow food restaurant extends the good feeling of solar power, and recycled papers in the bathrooms and dining rooms. The shower was a little small and flimsy but the water was good and hot and the heating was hydronic . Staff were excellent. Only a short walk from a beautiful town and the station. "Great Ambiance- even though our room (“Biba”) 3rd floor window at knee height. Property not good for someone who cannot climb stairs. Food and service excellent! Would stay there again- great location relative to all to see in Barga and driving Tuscan countryside. Nice comfortable pool with nice chaises. Good value as excellent breakfast included. We couldnt find much info on hotel on internet but it turned out to be a real gem"

"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day. There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "
