"Very unique being a castle. Has to be seen to be believed! It was comfortable. However, Amsterdam has little to offer. Pretty run down, no stores anywhere. Breakfast is not included as the dining room is closed down. Closest place to get breakfast is about a 3 mile drive away. In such a strange place, there is actually a great Italian restaurant almost across the road. The only restaurant around. Glad we saw the castle and experienced it but we will not be back to Amsterdam."

"We picked this location for its proximity to Cooperstown. The room was good & very clean. The only issue we had was it took almost 20 minutes to get any hot water in the sink or shower. We were up & on the road early, so that may have factored into this issue. We would give this location another try."

"Did not stay once we saw the property......rooms and property very dirty, not maintained, management not available when we got there. Were charged the whole price since their policy is 24 hr advance notice. Photo online is NOT what we observed. I would never recommend this place to anyone. EXTREMELY disappointed. We were on our bikes and had to ride another 10 miles before we found another place to stay."

"Beautiful property that offers a unique experience of staying in a log house. The fire stove provided more than enough warmth to the entire house. The additional propane heater is also there in case we did not want to keep the fire stove going all the time. Shower cubicle is really small for a guy like me (I am 6 feet 2 inches tall), but I was still able to manage take showers."

"This is a low-end motel. There is incessant traffic noise from the highway. The only nearby eating establishment is Star Cafe, a typical greasy spoon with minimal fare. The only saving graces are the adjacent laundromat and the price. There is also a minimart by the gas station for survival needs. "

"The property was charming! The owners were available for questions about the area as they ran the store below the loft apartment. The only concern is it is not handicap accessible and that should be noted somewhere. I give this listing an A rating for everything, we will definitely book this again if it is available. "Our family enjoyed every aspect of the Oasis Cabin. Although we were in the area for a wedding which took up a lot of our time, whenever we were at the cabin there was always something to enjoy - such as the jacuzzi, sauna, hammock listening to the wilderness, ping pong, drums, outside firepit, games, etc. We highly recommend this home to anybody traveling to this area. "Upon first appearance the house is nicely decorated. The owners did provide toilet paper, paper towels, and hand/dish soap which was nice. However, the house needs a serious deep clean. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms directly Above the beds had a thick layer of dust on them. There were crumbs in the corners of the kitchen floors and the dining room & dust bunnies in the family room. Only one of the lights above the bathroom vanity worked, the other one had a missing bulb & the other 2 did not...
