"The best features of this property are its location on Cuba Street, the 3 queen size beds and the kitchen. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. "I recently travelled to Wellington for two nights to attend WoW. The James Cook was very conveniently located for this event and was only a quick walk to the event venue. One of the lifts down to Lambton Quay was undergoing maintenance for the three days we were there and this did create some significant queues and wait times around busy periods. The room was a good size and generally clean, although a deep clean of the room is needed as there were definitely areas of the room that were noticeably neglected - especially under the bench in the bathroom and the corners of the rooms, under furniture etc. I was also disappointed that although this is a hotel, there was no mini-bar. There was a mini-fridge but it was empty and after a long day and a long flight, this would have been welcomed. The noise levels from other guests in the corridors was also very noticeable, so there are some noise-proofing improvements that could be made. Otherwise a generally pleasant stay."
