We needed a super late check in, I called ahead and the lady at the front desk was able to help me with that. When I arrived around midnight, the lady at the front desk was still helpful, even though it was late she had a great attitude. I picked HI Express because of my last stay in Long Beach, CA. This location was no real comparison. When I pulled up the first night, there was an impromptu takeover on the street thale hotel is on. It took us 15 minutes to go from the corner of the location to the location, about 100 ft., because there were lowriders lined up and down the street, blocking the street, with many people just standing in the middle of the street. Because of that takeover the parking lot was also full. To make matters worse, the hotel parking lot is completely packed with old dead cars because the hotel has a deal with the car dealer across the street, and there's hardly any parking. The parking garage spots are also painted so narrow, my rental, a average sized sedan, could NOT properly fit in any of the spots, so the other guests and I couldnt possibly parke properly, reducing the number of parking spots in total. The interior of the hotel is very nice, and i like the breakfast. Our room was one of those 2 double bed rooms, which was fine, but it has the bathroom sink outside the bathroom, which is awkward and kind of gross. The shower was also much smaller than the Long Beach location, which isnt good for a big guy like me. Then theres the pool, which had trash in it by the deep side filter and entrance steps, so that was a no-go. I know the location isn't exactly fancy, but neither was Long Beach, and Long Beach was SO much nicer. I could've saved a few bucks and gone somewhere else.
