I am really pleased with our stay at The Pavillion Hotel. The staff are very relaxed and welcoming. Its good old fashioned lock and key basics, but in a sumptuously decorated building. It has so many styles within one relatively small hotel. With layered rugs, heavy gold framed oil paintings, glamourous lamps and a bit of fabulous taxidermy here and there. If you're into minimal styling, this isnt for you but if you like true character then this will be perfect for you. We stayed on the top floor. The rooms are petite but filled with comfort and brilliant design. We had a cream and gold room with a comfy high double bed. Its brilliantly placed and very easy to get around cebtral London with plenty of public transport. Its in an architecturaly beautiful area and its relitively quiet. Yiu jave to remember that its a really low cost hotel for such a decent area. Ive read a few reviews where people moan about toiletries...... you get a var of soap...so what? Bring yiur own of you're so fussy. The breakfast, well I wouldnt say it was continental but its not tge worst ove ever had. One tip though, because its an old building the pipes can rattle when you run a tap or flush the bog so bring headphones. I'm not bothered about the loud plumbingvthough, I'll stay again as its just gorgeous - I've never seen so much stained glass outside of a church!
Ok so my stay here was just for one night for new year's eve.
It was picked as only 2 mins walk from where my friends were staying , and was extremely cheap for this area.
I know from the other reviews that it was a little 'different' style of hotel, and some rooms had been described as small and the continental breakfast very basic. But for the short stay i required, it was perfect.
Check in was friendly, room was clean , comfortable and facilities sufficient for my stay. Only tiny thing to mention was the size of the toilet , which was just outside my room, and was used by the occupants in adjacent room.
It was just big enough for me, a slim guy, but would have been an issue for a larger person.
In summary i was happy with what the Pavillion offered me, and would happily stay there again.
Hotel is very lovely and very.quirky . Room was compacted . Needs more milk in rooms.
Breakfast is only thing that really lets hotel down .
Could do with supplying toast or fresh rolls
Next to busy main road, zero sleep. my own fault
To boil a kettle I had to negotiate a tight space to find a plug socket, not great having to unplug a boiled kettle in a tight space.
I was informed breakfast from 7am or not at all.
Radiator turned on about 8.30Pm (it was 15th November - cold), although it did have an additional tiny radiator in the room
Tiny, dribbly shower - that was thankfully hot.
