Great location just by the castle and close to the Alfama. Hotel was exactly as it appeared in listing. Staff very helpful. Breakfast very good.

Such a unique area and property. The staff were very friendly and helpful with suggestions to best enjoy the experience. The breakfast was amazing. We used the shuttle they arranged and he was spectacular. This is a cultural masterpiece with so much history and flavor. It is not a 5 star luxury experience, it is a beautiful look at at a neighborhood and district you will remember for years. If you expect luxury, go to a 4 Seasons or equivalent. If you want a beautiful setting surrounded by rough edges and a real neighborhood with real people, this is the experience for you. We loved it!

The staff were friendly and accommodating. If your driving a car it is not the easiest place to get to. Property is quiet dated but clean.

Great hotel on the edge of Alfama. Easy to walk to restaurants, overlooks, castle. We had a wonderful view over rooftops (Baixa?). Would definitely stay here again. Great staff and breakfast. Don't try to drive here!

We stayed for four nights. We found the room clean and spacious, and great breakfast buffet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located on top of a hill with great views, but walking up the hill could pose a problem for people with mobility issues. Overall a nice and classy hotel. Jane

Fabulous breakfast each morning with lots of options. Spacious room, great location, away from the tourist area but accessible by walking. Lots of climbing required as it is close to the castle.

Lovely atmosphere: the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is handy for places to eat and for sightseeing. Finding one's way around can be tricky at first, especially at night and the staff gave good advice on options.

The hotel is very clean, the staff welcoming, a decent breakfast and with pleasant views of the city. The only draw back is its location! To get there, you need to climb very steep (cobbled) hills and many (hundreds) steps! However, if you wish to stay in a quieter area away from the "bustle", then here is ideal.

Small hotel (24 rooms) in nice quiet and scenic area overlooking the Castle. Room was clean and simple with a terraced area. You need to be prepared for the hills and stairs though!

The staff was amazing. A person in our party needed medical help. Rui from the front desk called an ambulance and stayed with us until it arrived. He went above and beyond offering comfort and assistance. I highly recommend this hotel.

Old and outdated - in shabby condition. Fruit flies were eating the fruit and food at breakfast everyday. Not convenient to access and really nothing special around the area either to make it worth staying here.

We were very disappointed with the room allocated to us. The photos and detail seems to suggest all rooms face the same way with beautiful views. Hence we booked room without a terrace at least 3 months in advance and paid in full. On checking in we were allocated a room facing block of apartments. We had also kindly asked in advance if we could have a room with a nice view but were told they will try to do so. Obviously a brush off, it seems its first come first serve. We paid the price of a room without a view because our flight was delayed and we arrived in the evening. Maybe the hotel needs to change the description and photos to also inform of the two rooms 106 and 107! Very disappointed as we were there to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary.

Very nice Hotel , location , service , The stuff very friendly and nice , the Room so clean and beautiful. I recommend you to come with Taxi, not uber, because Taxi is allowed to go to the front of the hotel, uber will dropp you off and you have yo walk to the hotel
