"I found myself going to this Extended Stay America as an escape from my own home. Ive been living in a studio apartment with a neighbor that has a rolling office chair on the hardwood floor that gets rolled day or night making it very hard to live, sleep or think. When I arrived late on a Sunday night I was treated kindly by Maya and after explaining my ordeal I could see she listened and even looked to see if she could get me a top floor . It wasnt available but was assured no rolling overhead chairs. The room was as quiet as a hotel can be and I was able to finally get some peace and sleep I spent 3 nights. They were friendly and accommodating the whole time. Greeted by front desk and housekeeping staff when engaged and the complimentary coffee and treats in the morning was perfect to wake up too. Vending machines were stocked and had good items. The Old Orchard Mall was close by for entertainment and food but grubhub also see delivers to the hotel without fees. The room fully suited my needs though it's a hotel that gets stayed at a lot. So the fridge was abit beaten up but it was quieter than my one at home. You could tell they clean and dust regularly. I pulled the recliner away from the wall to sit and not one dust bunny. If you are a budget traveler I definitely recommend staying here. "

"Phenomenal hotel!! From the moment I walked in my room, I knew that this would be preferred choice for my next Chicago area visit. Great staff, especially the restaurant staff!! Beautiful property. Close to everything, including train!! Only cons: If you book through a 3rd party app (Expedia), let them know immediately or wake up to daily charges. Also, the $50 early check in fee... if my room is already ready, I don't understand the fee. Other than that, you'll have no regrets with The GEM of Evanston!!!"

"The staff really make this hotel run! My holiday was enhanced by this experience with staying with Hyatt in Evanston with the polite customer service. The breakfast was good, just what you needed to start the day. Everyday there is something different and its all you can eat style! The gym is 24hrs so you can go in whenever you want to pump your heart and lift some iron. And this is a convenient hotel as your a 40-50 minute train journey away from Chicago! A 6 minute walking distance from Northwestern University (Highly recommend to check that out!), and the hotel is in town so you have many food options around for lunch and dinner. Big shout out to the cleaners they deserve their big props, one of them found my earphones and gave it to one of the concierges. The concierges are great, I have to give a BIG shoutout to Arthur, Justin and Khalil! They are a reflection of great customer service, gave me advice on where I should go and how I should go about it and helped when I needed it most! Shout out to you guys, BIG 3!!! If I was to come for a trip to Chicago, I would stay in Evanston again as all around from the Kitchen Staff, Cleaners and Concireges, The area and the convenience its worth it!"

"The location of the Orrington is excellent but the star of the Orrington is delfinitely its staff. They were friendly, helpful and handled busy and problem situations with grace and solutions. Gotta love the midwest!"

"The property has been very tastefully modernized. The host delayed revealing the address until the day before we traveled which gave rise to some anxiety. Check in was a disaster the access code supplied was wrong. A few essentials were missing, clothes hangers, corkscrew, bottle opener. A manual is sorely needed giving basic information such as the wi-fi network name and password, the available TV channels, what to do on garbage day etc. Overall we enjoyed our six day stay and would return on another occasion."
