The location and property itself is great. My minor issues is that there is not an ice machine so I had to constantly ask the staff for ice. Our bed could also be replaced at this point. The walls are definitely not soundproof but for the most part it was quiet.

Nostalgia. I remember going to The Homestead when I was a student back in the 60’s. Well-appointed, comfortable room. Charming graduate touches like the room key, do not disturb pennant, and coffee packets. Love the front porch!

Beautiful, old building with thick cement block and brick walls which made it very quiet. Pretty carpet and furnishings in the room. Much nicer than the seemingly sterile, standard chain hotel.

Excellent Evanston Hotel

Superb hotel. Great room and wonderful service. Perfect location for exploring Evanston and the north side of Chicago. The only downside was bathroom door in our room got stuck and was difficult to open. Resolved the problem ourselves and didn't discuss with the hotel staff.
