Each morning, we enjoyed feeding the birds from our porch with fresh bananas thoughtfully provided by our hosts, Carlos and Werner—a simple ritual that quickly became a highlight of our stay. Carlos and Werner were exceptionally gracious and attentive, always ensuring we felt welcome and well cared for. Every morning they prepared a delicious, homemade breakfast and offered wonderful recommendations for exploring the area, which made our experience even more memorable. We left feeling refreshed and grateful—and we truly hope to return someday. "

"We loved our stay here. The property was fantastic, with a view that cannot be beat. The service, cleanliness, wifi and concierge support was excellent. We were one of the few that didn’t have their own car and so relied on drivers to take us to La Fortuna and activities. This was about $70 each way and so just be aware this property is about 40 minutes out of town. The peace and quiet, however was lovely after a day of activities. Would highly recommend."

"I chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the Liberia airport. I wasn't finished acquiring my rental car until 1700 hrs and did not want to drive 3 or 4 more hours to La Fortuna or Monteverde. It served as my base for Lake Arenal Catamaran tour, Viento Fresco waterfall hike (which is changing it's name to Manakin Waterfall Nature Reserve), and a day at Treetopia hanginging bridges in Monteverde. The hot tub was a great way to relax after a days adventure. You could even pull off a Scandanavian type spa treatment alternating the hot tub and the cool pool for a hot/cold treatment. There are water activities, such as windsurfing and kayaking nearby on Lake Arenal. The hotel also has a beautiful view of Lake Arenal and has a 1 km hiking trail on it's property. The gardens around the hotel are amazing. The brewery was the first brewery in Costa Rica. The owner JP and his son are the brewers and JP has achieved Master of Brewing Art. He will gladly give you a tour of the brewery. Allison and Jose were very friendly bartenders, both speaking good english. Allison makes an excellent spicy margarita. All the staff were excellent,the rooms were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. All in all it was a very good stay."

"Loved it!!! Would be 5 star should the property owner had communicated with us to fix some issues. Water pressure issue on our last day, missing a lot of outdoor lighting, one of 4 toilets not working and bathroom lighting near mirrors for ladies to put on makeup:) Otherwise this is a gem!"

"Lovely home and view. Host was very responsive. Totally necessary to have for wheel drive for the last 3 km’s from Tronadora to the home. Unpaved road in very bad condition, more so when it rains. Location not convenient for touring La Fortuna or Monteverde. Approx 2 hour drive to both. Four wheel drive necessary for drive to Monteverde. Tronadora itself is a lovely town and there are some really nice restaurants close by. "

"We absolutely loved the time we spent at this VRBO. The views off the deck were Stunning. The lake sunrise/sunsets, the morning birds, squirrels, deer and wildlife. It was an easy walk down to the lake as well as to restaurants and coffee shop. The house was super clean, the pool was wonderful and the beds were comfy. If you enjoy bird watching then this is the place for you!!! The hosts were excellent, we would stay here again for sure.Thank you for opening your home for us to enjoy!"
