"This was in a perfect location for our stay and it had plenty of room for the whole fam. The house is within walking distance to the Metro station and we went back and forth into the city using the metro 4 times in just the 48 hours we were there. Super easy!! The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The home comfortably slept 8 adults and there was room for more. The host was easy to get in touch with! We were concerned about parking a 3rd car but easily found street parking right out front....

"We spent a wonderful long weekend here during Historic Garden Week. The house is cozy and comfortable, attractively decorated and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, including off-street parking. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of the heart of Old Town Alexandria and Washington, DC is a short ride away by metro or car and you can take a water taxi for a more scenic route."

"Great apartment. Very nicely set up and clean. Supplies of coffee and other disposables were great. Ice to have driveway parking. Would totally rent again. Only minor drawback was the sound from the upstairs people ( older house can’t totally control)."

"Great family vacation. We walked to dinner in the neighborhood and walked the dogs to the park, and walked to the metro to take in the sites, museums, and even a caps game. Close to the airport and a huge shopping center. We recommend the District Biscuit company...very yummy and close by. The neighborhood is very dog friendly and theres a great park nearby for dmall children to play. The house is very quiet with plenty of room for the whole family."

"Everything was as advertised. The bed downstairs is in a room with very low ceilings, probably best for a child, and the bed is short as well. It is comfortable, but not for a tall person"

"Quiet area great for families. Loved the outdoor space. We brought 2 large dogs and they had a safe place to enjoy without escaping. The fire pit was nice and the shed with the beach chairs and different sized bikes was awesome. The inside was clean and had nice touches. The golf cart rentals and restaurants were very convenient."

"Location was good, 3 min walk to bus stop, short bus ride to Potomac Metro station. Off street parking is a huge plus, but was tight for 2 mid-size SUV. Plenty of hot water for 8 people to take back to back showers. Host was excellent!! Only complaints is we had 8 people and 7 forks and found the 8th fork in the bottom of the dish washer on the 2nd to last day. Several dishes were dirty when we got there, we ran them through the dish washer. We traveled 2 families of 4. We eat breakfast and...

"There really are not the right type of words to succinctly but adequately share how much our family enjoyed staying at Cheryl's gem of a house on Captain's Row. It was way better than the listing described. So many thoughtful touches, a perfect location, very comfortable beds and seating areas, and plenty of room to relax and enjoy our downtime before and after sightseeing. It was such a privilege to be steeped in a deeply historical house with furnishings and art to accentuate the experience....

"We had a great stay here - the home was clean, nicely decorated, the kitchen was very well stocked and great access to the river. The teens loved being able to step right outside and fish. Good fishing too! We had rainy weather yet that didn't stop us from having a great time. Dan is excellent and timely with his communications too. Hope to return here this summer!"
