"Suwa Villa Arenal was delightful! A little oasis amid the bustle of La Fortuna. It has an inside/outside vibe--the rooms are inside (and air conditioned); the hallways, kitchen and common area are outside and covered, and there are beautiful planted areas (with big trees, a pool, and some outdoor amenities) that are outside but within the walls. One morning I sat in the common kitchen and listened for fifteen minutes to the birds in a large adjacent tree. We really did use the common kitchen and dining area to store and prepare food, and we also used the laundry--very helpful after a sweaty day of hiking! The rooms are not large, but they are well laid out and elegant. I would highly recommend Suwa to anyone visiting La Fortuna."

The entire property is private and we thoroughly enjoyed outback by the pool relaxing and watching for wildlife . Communication was excellent with the host. "A great little hotel! We stayed in a superior room, the bathrooms were on the smaller side but very clean! The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Each room had its own mini split and fan so ac wasn’t an issue. There was a nice little morning coffee package provided to make a coffee in the room but every day we received a text asking us what we would like for breakfast the next day. All the breakfasts were made fresh the morning of, as well as a plate of fruit each. Adrian was super accommodating and had our breakfast ready earlier as we booked some early morning tours. The floor where the superior rooms are located had a great hangout/lounge sitting area with a fantastic view of the Arenal volcano. There is also a water and ice refill station in the lobby area which came in handy. Honestly this hotel is something you might drive by and miss but it was a great stay! It’s more in the heart of La Fortuna, within walking distance of soo many restaurants and all tours will pickup at this location! We would definitely stay here again! Shoutout to Adrian for all the welcoming hospitality, he was wonderful!"
