"If you were only staying for one or two nights in Chachagua, then this motel might suit you fine, please be highly aware of their nonrefundable policy. I made the mistake of booking this hotel for two weeks so that I had a homebase for my entire stay in Costa Rica. When I realize that I was not very happy staying there, I was unable to cancel or get refunded for my unused nights."

"Property and amenities were pretty good: full service restaurant although with limited options. Activities on site were good (chocolate making / dairy work / rainforest walk). Sloths on the grounds, so many birds and butterflies. Pool area was nice but could've been cleaner (old drinks glasses weren't cleaned up, pool water quite dirty, tiles missing) Our room was the Earth House and it was fine although could benefit from the floor being redone and the bathroom could've been nicer. I would say overall 7/10 for the room, 9/10 for food quality, 7/10 for food choice, 10/10 for the staff. Big love to Elli in the restaurant and to the owners who we were happy to meet!"

"The lodge may not look luxurious but the staff make sure you feel like it is. Insuring all your needs are met. The staff were amazing, first class! All meals were a beautiful presentation and they got to know you and then catered to your tastes. He mad my husband a fresh picante sauce. We loved the location. We were looking for some conveniences but preferred a non touristy place. It was perfect for the type of trip we wanted. The sounds of the rainforest surrounds the lodge. We thought it was beautiful! "

"What a special place. We loved the night tour with jimmy...saw so many cool creatures. Also loved watching toucans while we ate a delicious breakfast. "

"We spent a fantastic 8 days at Casa Ute! The house is situated on a hill, overlooking a pond that is part of Chachagua Rain Forest Hotel, and next to the horse stable. The porch was the perfect place for bird and animal watching. We logged 17 different bird species, and three mammals during our stay. Bring binoculars or a scope. Kitchen is newly renovated. We used the stove top and oven to cook, and they worked fine. Plenty of counter space, and we arrived to a fruit and veggie basket that we took advantage of. A/C in the master bedroom worked well, and helped tamper down the humidity. Bathroom shower is unique in a good way, and pressure and temps were good. The resort staff were terrific in helping us plan excursions, both on and off the property. We recommend the night hike with Roy, bird hike with Rueben and horseback riding on site. We will definitely return, thank you, Ute, for sharing your wonderful home with us."
