"Stayed with my son overnight on our trip to climb Helwellyn. Did the climb prior to checking in, as check in was from 3pm. Asked in advance if we could use the car park upon our arrival in the morning & it was no problem.
Once we checked in, the room was good with a modern ensuite, ironing board, hair-dryer and coffee facilities. All the staff were friendly with a nicely stocked bar and it was fine to book a table for our evening meal. The menu had a good choice of meat and vegetarian options. We had the burger and the homemade steak pudding, which were both filling and tasty. Just what we needed after a strenuous day climbing. Decent night's sleep, a bit of traffic noise but it is the main route throught the centre of the Lake District, so not unexpected. We left early, so didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Would we return? Yes."
