"I booked this last minute and so glad I came across it. Booked King but got free upgrade to large King. Everything excellent, very comfortable, quiet, clean, plenty of extras in room including bottled milk in fridge, two bottles water, cotton wool and buds as well as the usual shower gel, shampoo, conditior soap, and an extra nice touch wine glasses in room. Host very friendly and informative, folder provided with lots of information on local area. Mini bar with honesty box available in lounge....

"Lovely hotel with superb hosts Matt and Lucy. Our overnight stay was brilliant. Our room (11) was sparkling clean with everything you could want. A good selection of tea and coffee plus biscuits. The bathroom was lovely with a deep bath and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was was hot and tasty and also a selection of cereals, yogurts etc. Would definitely recommend."

"Room was immaculate and spacious. I was worried about parking but it wasn’t a problem as I was able to get a space outside the front, and the back if I wanted. If you need to check in later than 8/9pm it isn’t a problem; just give them a call and they’ll arrange it with you. Breakfast was decent too! The only negative (a very minor point) is that the shower head appeared to have brewer’s droop! Other than that it was fabulous. I would definitely stay again. "

"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

"Our second year visiting. Wonderful husband and wife team who cook and serve us breakfast and I imagine do all the cleaning. I do not know who owns or manages this hotel, but perhaps it is time for the owner to look at certain things in the bedroom (bathroom blind, vanity stool) to be refreshed, and some repainting. The sunroom at the front of the hotel seems to be used as a storage unit which is a great waste of a nice sitting spot. The breakfasts are excellent again due to the husband...

"Great place, the room was comfy and clean, and it was nice to have kitchen facilities like a microwave in the room. Added extras like hair straightener was also a bonus. Perfect location to main Bowness town, took around 20 mins to walk into the main town with lots of shops and restaurants along the way. "

"Nice apartment for my wife and I to spend a couple of nights with our 1 year old daughter. There was plenty of room in the bedroom for the travel cot we brought with us, and they provided a high chair on arrival. The apartment was also dog friendly so our little pooch was able enjoy the trip with us (at a cost of £25 per night). The welcome pack did mention there was a free bag of dog treats available for dogs, but we didn't actually receive any. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything...
