"Comfortable friendly helpful easy"

"This was very much a last minute decision. Booked expecting a 3pm check in. We were in the area early and asked if we could check in early - staff accommodated us. Tom was lovely and clean. Staff were kind, friendly and made us feel at home. We were so impressed we had dinner - great local food and a great range of drinks in the bar. Bar was frequented by regulars who were friendly and keen to point out their favourite menu choices. The bar is dog friendly, however the restaurant side is dog free if you want a quieter break. They be around 12 different beers. All are so good we bought bottles for find and family. We will be back."

"My stay at the Shakespeare was short but will be remembered as a really good experience. I felt like a truly valued customer, everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was good and the bed was huge!! It was 2 lovely nights sleep, nice hot shower in the morning followed by a cooked breakfast. It really set me up for the day. I would most certainly revisit and can recommend it for a good place to stay in Kendal."
