"Nice old plantation style house with a beautiful yard and view of Hilo. Staff was nice and helpful, even tho I arrived a day and a half late. Very peaceful place to stay, with birds chirping in the morning and coqui frogs croaking at night."

"Wonderful getaway! Definitely would stay again. Coming from Texas heat was admittedly nervous about no A/C, but the overnight temp and ceiling fan made it pleasant. We stayed 4 different places on this trip to Maui and Big Island and this was our favorite place. They have everything you need."

"In short, We loved it. The waterfall was amazing. It looked much prettier than the photo showed. I would love just to stay in the house and do nothing but listening the nature sounds. The house itself was very pretty and unique. The location is also good. so close to the town. overall experience is wonderful. I loved the stay."

"This house is BEYOND amazing. I've never stayed in a rental home that was so meticulously maintained - everything was gorgeous and high-end. We were unsure about renting a place in July with no air conditioning, but it actually just added to the experience to have the warmth and hear the birds and critters from the outside. Speaking of critters, we were introduced to the "coqui" frogs on the island - loud little guys, but super cute. Bring your earplugs at nighttime if repetitive sounds keep you awake. The backyard lights up in the evening (this house is a smart home with awesome features like cove lighting and backyard illumination) and truly makes you feel like you're in your own little rain forest."

"I’m not sure I can completely express how much staying here meant to us. This unit helped make our trip as wonderful as it could possibly be. The unit is bright and thoughtfully and beautifully designed and decorated. It is surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful flowers on the property, and it was neat and clean as can be.The owners are lovely and were so welcoming and helpful, especially with information and suggestions about seeing the current eruption at Kilauea. The check in and check out were easy and seamless.We had a wonderful visit to the Hilo side and this unit was a perfect place to rest and recharge from the days adventures. Thank you so much!"

"Lory and Stewart were gracious hosts, and their property is a quaint island getaway! The room was clean and nicely furnished. The back yard was huge and beautiful. And the breakfasts served on the back porch were delicious and a nice opportunity to converse with the hosts and other guests."

"Here's a concise, balanced review:Our family enjoyed our stay in Hilo. The house was spacious and comfortably accommodated two families, and the location was convenient for exploring the area. The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. The home is older and, without air conditioning, it took some time to adjust to the heat and humidity. However, each room had fans, and opening the windows provided a nice breeze that made it more comfortable."
