I have traveled to Katherine a few times, it's not the prettiest town, but the gorges and surrounds are what we went for.

We really enjoyed exploring Nitmiluk National park, seeing the gorge and Edith Falls. We also had a great time at Marksies Stockman Bush Tucker night, the food was amazing.
