Wonderful getaway!

We so enjoyed staying at this resort. It was perfectly located to all the nearby activities and the view was spectacular. The beautiful unit had more than everything you could possibly need.

Perfect island time

We can’t say enough about our stay. The condo was super convenient to dining, shopping, groceries, and activities. The upgrades inside were fantastic and the daily sunrise from the lanai was amazing. Shirley was an incredible host checking in on us during a week of uncertainty weather wise.We would love to come back.

Thank you for lovely stay. The unit was well furnished, and the location was excellent for the beach and getting to the rest of the island. The resort is nicely maintained. We enjoyed the resident chickens, too. Great birthday celebration. Mahalo.

Fantastic view and great location

We’ll equipped, clean, and comfortable. The ocean view is stunning. Watch the sunrise and fishing boats leaving the adjacent small harbor. The location is perfect, easy walk down the path to several restaurants and shops. The booking and checkin process was hassle free mostly because of the excellent communication we had with our gracious host Shirley Cooney. Don’t hesitate to book this place, you won’t regret it.

Wonderful 2nd floor view

Shirley and Tony are great hosts! The kitchen had everything I needed for the cooking I like to do! The lanai was very comfy with a wide open ocean view. Shirley is an excellent communicator and was so helpful with all my inquiries! Bed was super comfy - slept like a dream! Overall a wonderful stay!

Excellent!!

This is a wonderful VRBO rental and the host is great at communicating with you and easy to reach if you need her. Perfect location with ocean views, morning sunrises and the pool nearby. Walking distance to shops & restaurants. Being right on the bike/walking path is a real bonus. The condo has been gorgeously remodeled and well stocked with anything you might need.

Spectacular View

We absolutely loved staying at this property and the seller was the view! Every day and night we could walk out, chill, have drinks, read, and watch the most beautiful ocean view. It was perfect. Shirley was a great host and got back to us immediately with any questions that we had. Perfect location to everything we wanted to do in Kaui. I would highly, highly recommend.

Immaculate and true to its discription

I just wanted to tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed your condo in Kapaa. It was perfect. The kitchen and bath are in superb shape. The ocean was a treat to listen to and wake up to in the morning. The location was ideal for getting to the north or south rather quickly. We will definitely be back.

Perfect little piece of paradise!

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Kauai, and this condo was a great home base for our trip. Great location with lots of great places within walking distance. We took full advantage of the walking path right outside the property, walking most days during our stay. Shirley and Tony were excellent hosts, great communication and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The condo was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and everything we needed to prepare our meals. We will definitely be returning to enjoy this little piece of paradise again.

Beautiful Oceanview Condo!

We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay at Shirley’s condo. The view from the balcony is unobstructed with a lovely ocean breeze. The condo is very well equipped and Shirley was very proactive ensuring that we had everything we could possibly need for our stay. We had great communication with Shirley prior to, during, and after our stay. A lovely condo with a variety of resort activities to choose from. We could not have had a better vacation on Kauai!

Heaven in paradise

We had such a wonderful stay. The sunrises are stunning! Just a short walk to the beach which was pretty secluded every time we went. The condo was fully stocked and well maintained. Lots to do at the resort and just a short walk to the town. Shirley was a wonderful host! She was very good at communicating before and during our trip. We were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary and we were welcomed with a beautiful bouquet of tropical flowers and a card... nice personal touch! We would love to come back again, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Great home base

My wife and I enjoyed our stay, definitely could have used a couple more nights before heading home to snowy MN. The place is as nice as the pictures indicate. Shirley is awesome! She really wants her guests to have a fantastic stay. We investigated the island each day of our trip, except one. It was fantastic to start and end days on the lanai. A place with a great view and breezes coming off the ocean is a must in my opinion. For those of you that like to travel to see the sites, it takes a bit over 30 minutes to get to Hanalei Bay and around 90 minutes to get to Waimea Canyon State Park from here.

An absolutely beautiful condo

Everything inside is just beautiful. Very custom. We stayed for our bdays and we were greeted with flowers, wine and a bday card. The view is stunning morning, noon and night. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The unit had everything we needed to cook with (I did that a lot) and all the beach chairs, coolers ect. Bed was comfortable. A/C was nice in the bedroom at night. Only one complaint that the owners unfortunately can’t do a thing about...you can hear every foot step above you. We apparently had a cowboy in boots doing laps all day and night for 8 days. Otherwise a spectacular condo. We would definitely stay again despite the Cowboy🤪

Nice condo with great view

The owner was very communicative and helpful. The condo has a good beach vibe and a very nice view. We could watch the sunrise from the balcony. There is an unassigned parking spot and we never had any issues finding parking. There is also a pool and hot tub which our daughter enjoyed very much. Behind the property there is a biking/walking path (public) next to the beach which was very nice. You can rent bikes nearby. Things that didn’t work so well: - there was a funky smell when we first entered the condo. We bought a febreze and used it and the smell was gone in a couple of days (or we got used to it) - the glasses and plates also had a weird smell to it - using the washer and dryer is a pain because it’s downstairs and you have to go a few times to load to washer, then move to dryer, might need to dry a second time and then again to pick up the clothes. - the contact person in Kauai was a bit rude The supreme question is whether we will come back to this condo again and the answer is a strong yes. The positives overwhelm the minor negatives. We had a great time in Kauai and we hope you will too.

Gorgeous View

This is a beautiful second floor condo with a direct view of the Pacific Ocean and spectacular sunrises. Pono Kai is centrally located in Kauai so trips to the north and south are easy to plan. This condo had the perfect amount of space for 2 adults. The east facing (sunrise) living space has plenty of room to move and relax. The living room opens to a beautiful balcony with plenty of room to sit and read or just take in the relaxing views and sounds of the surf. The kitchen is complete with everything you need to cook meals in or just to store the basics and eat out. The cherry cabinets and granite countertops make it obvious that you are staying in a quality condo. The bedroom with a queen bed has all you need to unpack for an extended or short vacation - plenty of closet and drawer storage. Perfect sized safe tucked away in the closet. The large window opens to a rarely used walk space, but can be shaded with lovely privacy shutters. Our favorite space was the beautiful tiled bath. The large walk-in elegant shower was the reason we chose this unit. There is plenty of counter space and more than needed storage. Restaurants, food trucks, grocery stores, souvenir shops, bike rentals, and an ocean side bike/walk path are steps away. Shirley was wonderful to work with. You can book with confidence when booking this condo.

Nice stay at Pono Kai Resort

Shirley is a great host! Stayed in communication the entire time through out our 10 day trip. We had to evacuate for the tsunami which was not a highlight. Shirley treated us to breakfast for the inconvenience which was super nice! The condo provides everything needed to make a very nice budget friendly trip. Check in/out was easy and condo was clean. We tried to cook at least one or two meals everyday. Saved us a ton of money. The view from the balcony is beautiful. The location in Kapa’a is great if you are looking those authentic beach town vibes. Only 25 min from Princeville and about 40 min to Poipu. Definitely not a luxury stay if that is what you are looking for. My only issue was the bed was not very comfortable so it was hard for us to get a good nights sleep. I couldn’t use the pillows because they were too thick. Other then that we had a great time at Shirley and Tony’s condo!

Shirley & Tony’s place checked all of the boxes! The condo was clean, had great working AC, a well equipped kitchen making meals at home easy, and a very nice bathroom/shower. The balcony is beautiful with top tier views of the ocean and mountains to the left. The views were even more spectacular in person than any listing photos could ever show. The grounds at the resort are very well maintained, with local plants, common areas with the pool, ping pong, mini golf, a robust herb garden, beautiful koi pond & more. The location is also top notch with walkable restaurants and a public beach just a short walk away. It was perfect for us, as we were visiting mainly to do the Kalalau trail and explore the island. Kapa’a is a great central location for accessing the North & South. Our only regret is that we didn’t book a longer trip for more time at the condo when we weren’t hiking - we could have spent weeks here and felt right at home with all of the amenities. Shirley & Tony’s communication was top notch as well, and we would love to stay again in the future!

Great location

Clean condo that is perfect for two people. Great view of the beach. This condo has everything you would need to make your stay feel like home... kitchen cookware, spices, and beach essentials. The room is on the second floor so we did hear the people on the third floor moving around. Good location to drive to the north or south parts of Kauai.

Appreciation

Shirley made sure that we have a good vacation before and during the trip by asking our needs and provide specific instructions about check in and check out. The condo is clean and the view from lanai is beautiful. The location is perfect for commuting North Shore and South shore, close to restaurants, markets and special the bike/walking path right at the beach.

A home away from home!

The condo was equipped with everything required for our stay on Kauai. From the kitchen utensils to beach chairs, umbrellas and coolers. There was nothing we needed to buy. The location created a beautiful view from the lanai. The owners were fabulous hosts, so kind and caring. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Kauai get away.

Just a perfect piece of paradise.The condo resort has everything you need. The location is excellent, and the sunrises viewed from the lanai are spectacular. There is a beach front path that allows walking to restaurants great food trucks nearby. The inside of the condo was fully renovated with new modern appliances if you wanted to stay in a cook. There are also newer Weber grills out by the pool are if you want to BBQ. We had the best time during our stay and hope to visit again. Just Perfect!!!
