Lovely Room. Wir Sprechen Deutsch. Tropical Garden, Quiet

Centrally located on the hillside overlooking Kona Coast 7 miles north of downtown Kailua Kona, this is one of several accommodations we offer. A lovely room with queen bed, sleeper sofa, full bath, cable TV, small lanai, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, hot water pot and free Wifi, onsite parking and beach gear. Laundry facilities are available.

Our guest house is a great home-base for exploring the Big Island of Hawaii. We try to provide everything you need to make it your home away from home. We are half a mile away from the picturesque Makalei Hawaii Golf Course and a short drive to the beautiful beaches of the Kona and Kohala coasts. Waimea is a half hour drive, Hilo is an hour and twenty minutes away and Volcanoes National Park makes a great day trip. For those arriving on the evening flights, we are only 10 minutes from the airport, but have no airport noise.

Wake up in the morning to the sound of birds singing, and breakfast at your leisure. Then it's off to the beach with chairs, boogie boards, cooler and towels supplied by us!

It is an amazing location within driving distance of many beaches, restaurants, shopping, Kona, and the airport. We loved the quiet and relaxing vibe. Some beach amenities were provided for guest use as well which is a great bonus. Coffee maker, hair dryer, ceiling fan, fridge and microwave all in the room with external shared laundry. Highly recommend!

Host was very welcoming and responsive. Check in/out super easy! Beach and regular towels, wash cloths, silverware, plates, cups, dishes, mugs, hand soap, beach chairs, cooler, refrigerator, microwave, laundry room ($5 per load) all available. Parking was easy. The views in any direction were awesome. Only con is how thin the walls were and guests who didn't follow the quiet hours. Will definitely be back with my entire family so we take up all the rooms!

Perfect getaway for nature-lovers

Rented this specifically since it was outside of resort areas. Not far from Kailua-Kona, though - only a 15-min drive. Daughter and I went to go hiking and experience nature, and this location was perfect for that! (We could even birdwatch from the lanai!) Found the house and the room clean and well-maintained. Note in response to other reviews: This is a house converted to guest rooms, so yes, you may hear a bit of noise from other guests, but I personally didn't find it a problem. And the other guests stuck to the house rules (which include quiet hours). Daughter and I are looking forward to coming back!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The place is clean and homelike. The view from the patio is amazing. Love the garden and all the tropical plants around the house. Highly recommend and will choose here again when we visit next time.

Amazing place in tropical garden

It’s an excellent, centrally-located place in a quiet and beautiful tropical garden. Nanette is a wonderful host. I had a great time and hope to come back one day

Pros: - great space for what we needed - microwave and fridge - towels and beach equipment provided - pull out couch perfect for my two year old - nice garden - laundry facilities for $5 per load - everyone was very nice - easy and convenient check-in Cons: - not the cleanest - no thermostat so it’s either really cold or really hot and humid - thin walls, you can hear people’s conversations and steps. We had a noise machine for my daughter and even then we would get woken up by all the noise - no place to prepare meals so we just purchased things that could be made in the microwave - dishes were dirty so we just bought disposables (they do have a sink available to wash dishes) - room and sheets smelled funny but I think it was because of the humidity (we did a load of laundry and washed the sheets the day we got there) Overall the place was good and we had a pleasant stay. Whoever cleans the room could do a much better job, everything was dusty and some places seemed just plain dirty (like the toilet). I disinfected all handles, table and light switches with Clorox wipes and they were really dirty. However, we didn’t see any bugs and felt much better after washing the sheets ourselves. Would I stay here again? Yes.

Quaint Vacation Hide Away

This is a cute bedroom with a connected full bathroom. One queen sized bed and one small sofa that turns into a small bed that was perfect for our 2 year old daughter. The owner was nice enough to have it pre-set up just for us. There's a sliding glass door and deck so you can see lots of tropical trees/bushes, and the sounds of the frogs will put you to sleep at night. Lots of palm trees and papaya trees around the property let you know you're n hawaii. It's just slightly off the beaten path, but we enjoyed our stay and the privacy. It's only a 5-10 minute drive into the more touristy part of town.

Nice place away from the hustle and bustle of town

Clean, nice place with a beautiful peaceful garden about 15 mins out of town. Off the beaten path. Quiet if you're the only occupants, otherwise you can hear every footstep, conversation, cough and sneeze from ALL of the neighboring rooms. Earplugs might help, I forgot to bring mine. Otherwise it's a nice place to stay outside of town. Vehicle needed for transportation. There's no public transportation in the area. Short 10 minute drive to the airport, which was nice.

Our happy, comfortable stay at Suzanne's vacation home.

We loved our stay at Suzanne’s vacation home. We were met and greeted. There is a nice treat in the room when you arrive. Our room (Ginger) was very clean and comfortable with table, chairs, refrigerator, nice bathroom, and comfortable bed. The small porch looked into lush plant thickets. The other guests were interesting, polite and quiet at night. We found the location to be excellent for our explorations. The climate there is also cool – very nice for sleeping! We will stay here again, and recommend this vacation home.
