"The views and location were outstanding. It is worth it to pay more for the Diamond Head View - it was magical to be able to wake up to that every morning, especially on a high floor. The staff were excellent and so kind in every part of the hotel throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable but there were some dirty areas like the balcony furniture cushions, the reusable amenity water bottles that had absolutely been used, the super dusty mural wall and layers of dust on the carpets near the beds. Trash on the balcony. The whole room needed a super deep clean. Amazing walkability -we were about a 10 minute or less walk from essentially everything. Beware of visiting in stormy weather season - the flooding will prevent you from taking out your expensive rental car, and the pool deck closes in windy weather (if you have a family, that pool really is the main draw). "

"This resort consists of two very old hotels that were joined by a beautiful lobby, gym and pool deck. Those areas are first class. The staff was also fantastic for the most part. The rooms, however, are the worst I have ever stayed in! The musty smell hits you on every floor when you step off the elevator. The hallways have visible mold and mildew on the walls. The rooms are very damp (our books and passports got warped!) and sound from the street is extremely loud. If you stay here do NOT get a room facing the street that McDonald’s is on. Constant loud music and yelling at all hours. We had to change rooms after the first two days as we couldn’t turn on the AC without a horrible musty smell coming from it. Our second room was only slightly better smelling. We avoided our room as it was so uncomfortable. This “resort” was not worth the money. "

"The staff were wonderful. Especially the staff near the elevators that help handicapped people like us. The hotel has an elevator system that is not handicap friendly as part of their efforts to keep the hotel room floors secure from non-hotel guests. I understand and appreciate keeping bad actors away from the rooms but not the confusion and distance people who can’t ride escalators face. The problem is that the elevators to the rooms (operable only with a room key) are on the second floor. To get from the ground floor to the second floor, there is a robust escalator which is great for everyone except those with mobility handicaps. There is a single small elevator tucked away in a long hallway and that is not easy to find when first finding it because the doors are covered in a nice Hawaiian style graphic. Since hotel check in is on the second floor, newly arriving guests have to find their own way around the escalators. After a couple of laps around the first floor shopping center, a hotel employee not only told us where the small elevator to the second elevator was, but he walked with us there. He helped a second time when we were seemingly stranded on the second floor looking for the small elevator down to the first floor. Another person helped a third time when the small elevator was out of order by taking us into an employee only area near the escalators and allowing us to use the elevators used by room maids. My thanks to the employees who rescued us. I wish had Names."

"Pool is extremely small and was out of service for 3 days. Room was dirty, bathroom need an urgent update. Check in staff was short and not nice. Elevators out of service Parking lot was a nightmare "
