"Location, 10 minutes from the airport was excellent. Although very close to the A1, the hotel is situated within green and leafy gardens. Our room, third floor looking over the car park, had countryside views and we could hear very little road noise even with the window open. Clean and comfortable room and good to have a shower separate from the bath. Reception and bar staff welcoming, helpful and very friendly throughout. Food in the restaurant, from a reduced menu, was okay. Would have been nice to have the full menu choice. Parking plentiful and, we felt, it seemed fairly secure."

"The night at The Doubletree before our early next day flight, always starts our holiday off and this occasion was again a delight from arrival with warm welcoming staff with tasty cookies through to our evening meal and comfortable bed in a clean quiet room - perfect start!"

"Very very friendly staff. All were excellent and very helpful. Great location. Very fair price. Tidy hotel. Decent free breakfast included. Only downsides: No ev chargers (not the end of the world as metrocentre is nearby and has plenty) No AC in the room Carpark could get quite full and didnt seem the most secure My biggest pet peeve is the lack of power sockets at both sides of the bed. Not the only hotel i’ve stayed at with this issue! I just have no idea who decided to design hotel rooms like this. Overall very useful stopover for a trip to Scotland."

"The bedrooms were clean and pretty standard but little things needed attention like the sash window would open but not stay open, nowhere to hang a towel and the sliding door was difficult to operate and lock. The basin was tiny. The public rooms were not very clean and a duster could have been useful as could a mop on step edges. I don’t think the bar had been wiped overnight. Pretty basic but ok for a couple of nights. Staff mostly friendly and some food ok, other things pretty poor with items missing from the description on the menu."

"I rarely leave negative reviews for independent B&Bs, but this stay was extremely disappointing. The room I was allocated was not the room type I had booked. It was advertised as a double room but was actually two single beds pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap between them. The room itself had several maintenance issues. There was a bad smell coming from the drain, the TV lost signal for most of our stay, the blind was broken and permanently stuck open, and the ground-floor window was broken and could be opened from outside, creating a genuine security concern. What made the experience particularly frustrating was the complete lack of staff presence. I reported the issues on the first morning and was told someone would get back to me. Nobody ever did. No one inspected the room, offered an alternative, or even provided an update. In fact, staff were so absent that we only saw someone a couple of times during the entire stay. The whole place had a strange atmosphere because there was rarely anybody around. There is supposedly a bar and kitchen on site, but these might as well not exist if there is nobody available to serve guests or assist with problems. I appreciate that maintenance issues can happen, but ignoring guests when those issues are reported is not acceptable. The lack of customer service, combined with the poor condition of the room, meant this was not an enjoyable stay and certainly not good value for money."

"We enjoyed this fantastic location and thought it was excellent value for money. Our only complaint relates to the Coffee machines at breakfast. The coffee was tasteless and needs to be properly percolated with a better quality of ground coffee beans. Table service for coffee would be much better."
