Nice historic B&B near main strip in Hudson
Nice B&B near just a few minutes from restaurants, antique shops and art galleries. The accommodations were comfortable, with slight cluttered feel. The owner was courteous and provided a nice made to order breakfast in the morning. I would come back again.
stayed here for a long weekend in Hudson. First time staying at a B&B ever. My room was clean and cozy and the bed was super comfortable. Barry the owner was very hospitable and makes amazing breakfasts of waffles and omelettes using awesome fresh Hudson Valley produce. A great find!
We prefer to stay at a B&B rather than at an impersonal hotel and we were rewarded by a caring, gentle and responsive host, Barry and comfortable home. He recommended us places where we would get delicious lunch and dinner (Most of Hudson City restaurants and shops close during weekdays, even in the summer). He was also helpful in giving us information about the city and its rich history. What we liked most about the house was, its superb architectural qualities. The house dates from 1880s, well-preserved and with minimum restorations, respectful to its magnificent proportions with large windows in all rooms. Recently added bathrooms in the rooms did not interfere with the layout. The rooms are furnished with well-used "old" furniture. (The mattresses, though, can benefit from updating).
The breakfast that Barry provided was satisfying and delicious, prepared in accordance with our preferences. We enjoyed fruit that seemed to be everywhere in the sitting room, arranged appealingly. We wish there were B&B of this quality in all towns and cities we visit.
This bed and breakfast is in a good location near downtown Hudson and it also convenient to the train station. The cost of the room was a bit high for the room. The building itself is charming and breakfast was good, but their seemed to be a run-down feel about the place--especially the grounds, had overgrown shrubbery and junk (old lattice, piles of woodchips and yard furniture) strewn in the backyard. The decor was pleasant but lacked any sense of style.
Really enjoyed the ambiance of the place, but I think it should be mentioned in the description that the owner/operator would like exact arrival and departure times in advance.
Wonderful stay in this great B&B. Barry the owner a very friendly philosophical man who turns ou to be a great waffle cook as well!
If u seeking peace and quietness go to beautiful Hudson enjoy your stay with Barry and enjoy life

Great town near Olana
Barry is such a great host - knowledgable and helpful. Best though, he makes the best waffles bar none! You will definitely enjoy your visit with him.
Barry was a great host. His B & B is warm and inviting and the room was very spacious and comfortable. A few blocks from town and the train. Can't be beat. We would definitely return.
