"We stayed in a twin room in the older part of the building....it was very disappointing! The mattress was the most uncomfortable that i have ever slept on, it must jave been the cheapest matress you could buy, all the springs had gone in it and lots of dips and hollows, i had to lay the bath towels on top of it to try and stop the springs from digging into me! The room was an awkward shape and a very poor layout. The furniture looked really tired and the wardrobe had a handle missing, there was paint peeling off the walls in certain areas. The whole room was in need of a revamp! The bathroom was more modern and had obviously been done up recently though. We ate in the restaurant which was extremely overpriced with very small portions, i would recommend eating elsewhere if you get the chance! The pool/spa facilities were good, although the steam room didn't have much steam in it! Overall a very disappointing stay for a supposedly four star hotel, i have stayed in far better places and would not stay here again! There is a more modern side of the hotel which is probably more up to par than the old side that we stayed in?"

"Internet was ok. Free breakfast was good. The bed and pillows were not too comfortable. Free parking was good. Room was clean though there was a stale smell in the bathroom."

"We had to make contact with the host as the hot tub was cold and dirty, we were only able to use it for 1 day, so feel let down.We had to move one of the setees and we then had to clean the floor as there was so much dust and other bits on the floor.As we had young children with us we ate in every night. We felt that there was not enought pots and pans for all of us. There was no instructions for the oven.I think the kitchen items need to be looked at and improved. There were no plugs for the kitchen sinks.We aslo felt the heating could be improved as some of the rooms never got warm."

"For a reunion of 14 friends and family Gaffers Cottage is ideal. The play barn is huge and in the grounds the play area, tennis court and walks through the snowdrops made it the perfect destination. It's close to Norwich Airport- we could see the aircraft coming and going on our walks around the estate which the kids loved-moreover we used the airport park and ride to get into Norwich itself. Gaffers comes with a piano, a modern well equipped kitchen, accessible downstairs bathroom and all the rooms in this rambling property were comfortable and spotless. When we stayed the February weather was grim so we lit the log burner and played board games - it felt like Christmas."
