"Good hotel some of the areas could do with a spruce up looks tired in places. The staff are all very friendly helpful and polite. Breakfast was excellent with food variety. "

"We stayed in a twin room in the older part of the building....it was very disappointing! The mattress was the most uncomfortable that i have ever slept on, it must jave been the cheapest matress you could buy, all the springs had gone in it and lots of dips and hollows, i had to lay the bath towels on top of it to try and stop the springs from digging into me! The room was an awkward shape and a very poor layout. The furniture looked really tired and the wardrobe had a handle missing, there was paint peeling off the walls in certain areas. The whole room was in need of a revamp! The bathroom was more modern and had obviously been done up recently though. We ate in the restaurant which was extremely overpriced with very small portions, i would recommend eating elsewhere if you get the chance! The pool/spa facilities were good, although the steam room didn't have much steam in it! Overall a very disappointing stay for a supposedly four star hotel, i have stayed in far better places and would not stay here again! There is a more modern side of the hotel which is probably more up to par than the old side that we stayed in?"

"Overall, it was a nice hotel. The property was generally clean and well maintained. However, we think the bathroom could use some renovation. The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, but the parking fee was quite reasonable, which was a plus. The breakfast was slightly below our expectations. Based on the reviews, the hotel was rated as “top rated” which naturally raised our expectations. We honestly couldn’t understand what justified that rating. We’ve had quite a lot of hotel experience across the UK, and I would say this was one of the more average breakfasts we’ve had. That said, all the staff were friendly, welcoming, and hardworking. I would especially like to mention Valerie and Emily😇 They were absolutely amazing and really made our stay more enjoyable. Thank you!"

"For a reunion of 14 friends and family Gaffers Cottage is ideal. The play barn is huge and in the grounds the play area, tennis court and walks through the snowdrops made it the perfect destination. It's close to Norwich Airport- we could see the aircraft coming and going on our walks around the estate which the kids loved-moreover we used the airport park and ride to get into Norwich itself. Gaffers comes with a piano, a modern well equipped kitchen, accessible downstairs bathroom and all the rooms in this rambling property were comfortable and spotless. When we stayed the February weather was grim so we lit the log burner and played board games - it felt like Christmas."

"1. No prearrival communication. I had to call the day before to find out what was going on "call me when you arrive" was the answer 2. Amenities not great: no waste bin in the kitchen, washed up crockery left out on the drainer, bathroom dirty, toilet seat not fitted to the toilet 3. The beds were nice and well made up 4. No wifi (tbf our host explained that wifi was down in the area) 5. Lots of the hosts things left in the house, to the point he came back the next morning asking for his shoes 6. Received 4 calls and 4 texts at midnight after departure; accused of stealing plates and glasses and that the police would be called (they were stacked in the dishwasher ready for a cycle, but there were no dishwaser tablets available to run the cycle). Texts later received to say the messages were for someone else and not meant for me - understand the apology but to accuse a customer of theft and threaten them with the police in the first instance is not on. Overall feeling about the stay and experience (pre and post) was very bad "
