"We booked our accommodation for 5 nights and we stayed at the Amelia's apartments. These are very modern and spacious units. The cooking facilities were excellent. The highlight was evening parade of fairy penguins that come out of the ocean at the back of the unit, march through the property to the front, then cross the road to the bushes at the base of the Stanley Nut. What a pleasure it was to see and hear them. I can assure you they are not quiet little penguins. The ocean is at the back of the unit, and the Stanley Nut is at the front of the unit. A very convenient location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stanley and the Amelia units."

"Very clean rooms, and awesome food "

"The hotel is old and the room, while well-equipped with a good shower, was not clean. Window sills, fridge seals, and the carpet were dirty. The bedding didn't look fresh, and we had to cover the pillows with our own shirts to sleep. On the plus side, all the staff were excellent and the restaurant food was good. It was the cheapest in the area, so the cost-benefit was ok."

"Wonderful building great location. Very short stroll to the penguin lookout. Even saw a penguin in the front yard when we returned from the lookout. And lots of wallaby's in the your and on the street at night. Fantastic views from the room and the property. Highly recommended. Would not hesitate to stay here again. If you are going to Tasmania put this place on your bucket list."

"What a fun quirky place to stay! We lodged a whole week in the Lodge and were sad to leave. Whilst it was just the two of us, the accom would swallow 3 couples or a family of 6 with ease, every room, including the bathroom, bristling with ol' world charm. All the stunning attractions of Stanley were easily walkable and when windy wet weather thwarts wandering the wide window was a superb place to watch the waves. And it has a piano!!! I even managed to get another sonata under my fingers! Albeit a little honky-tonk...We'd definitely stay again. "

"I loved the proximity to the cafe and shops. The view was also special. Our room was so comfortable. The leather recliner couch was a treat with throw rugs. A full kitchen was an added bonus. We really enjoyed our stay."
