Victoria St has been damaged as a viable shopping area due to bad council planning of so called improvements. Sidewalks too wide for the negligible foot traffic, road narrow and impedes traffic flow and restricts parking, parking areas replaced in parts with useless plants. Was better years ago with a wide street, narrower footpaths and angle parking, and traffic. I travel a lot and unfortunately I see this council idiocy everywhere. Where council has not changed streets, they work much better. The numerous and long standing empty shops in Victoria St prove my point.
