The view of Ashi Lake is beautiful. The hotel is walking distance to the Hakone Sight Seeing lake cruise. The hotel is a bit dated but other than that, the staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Great traditional experience
We had a fantastic stay. It gave us a traditional Japanese experience in a ryokan with dinner in our room. We got some nice wine (would you believe from the seven eleven just down the road from the hotel), and had a lovely relaxing night watching the sunset and having dinner n chatting in our lake view room. The onsen was also lovely. The hotel is a little dated on first impression, but I soon forgot about that once we got to the room and started enjoying the whole experience.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The building was old but it was nice coz i got to experience japanese style room but the toilet doesnt have a bidet.

Disliked: Amenities
Hot and uncomfortable room. Hotel is old and in rundown condition.
A little run down. Didn’t use shower in their room too dirty. Used so showers. Good location nice view. Staff was nice.
Lobby smells musty. Someone was smoking on our floor could smell it all over.
Old style Japanese hotel, with futon bed and hot baths. Nearby the Hakone shrine and lake view, short walk to the left to see Mt. Fuji. Try and go there to view it around sunrise and/or sunset. Hakone shrine is lit up in the early evening and no one around! If you spend a few days in Hakone get the Hakone Free pass. If only taking the bus to and from the hotel just pay the bus fare which is cheaper. To get there take bes H from odawarra station, bus can get very crowded
This was the most absolutely disgusting lodging experience I have ever had. One word sums up this hotel perfectly: DIRTY. The sink had old watermarks and toothpaste from the previous guest. There was dust, stains, dirt, and rust everywhere. The bathroom was exceptionally bad, worse than a public bathroom. It is clear that they have never once wiped or disinfected surfaces in the room. The futons were so thin that it felt like you were sleeping straight on the ground. The room also had a horrible public bathroom smell that didn’t go away. The staff was nice but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially given the high price. We got out as soon as we possibly could.
The hotel is definitely unique! i requested a non-smoking japanese style room which they did provided! i honestly loved the view of the Lask Ashi from my room! The staff was friendly and definitely helpful! I made a mistake of booking a smoking room, but i needed a non-smoking room, which they easily changed it to that when i emailed in regards of my booking mistakes. Their onsen are phenomenal! they had an indoor onsen and outdoor onsen, tried both and i think i love the outdoor onsen over the indoor ones(just a personal preference) I guess my only downside for this hotel is the housekeeping, i did stay for 4 days and 3 nights, it didnt seem that they do any housekeeping at all? luckily i had some plastic bags that i used as a garbage bags(there was also some garbage can in my room, but it didnt look like its enough, since there was no housekeeping during my stays. The room is a little outdated, could really use some renovations in my opinion. But other than those, i would definitely come back to this place and hopefully it gets some improvements in regards of housekeeping and renovations. Oh, they also have some sort of curfew before they locked their doors. If i remember correctly there are 2 doors that you can get in, the main big door which closes at 21:00 pm, and the small door besides it that closes at 23:00 pm, so if you are planning on staying to this place, those are the hours before they close the doors for the night(Ya, it kind of weirds me out regards of curfew)
