While the place is a bit dated, the place has been kept clean. The private onsen is great. We never had to wait for long to use it. It is located literally right outside Gora station and it convenient for us to start the Hakone loop with the cable car. We didn't need to explore dining places around as breakfast and dinner have been included and these have been great.

Amazing stay, perfect location, a great range of onsen. Definitely come here for a nice relaxing time. This was one of the best spots I have stayed in Japan and I've stayed at quite a few now!

Located near Gora Station, this is an *onsen* hotel where one might expect a wonderful *ryokan* experience from start to finish. In terms of the *onsen* facilities, I would consider it good; there are several thermal pools at different temperatures, showers for washing before and after bathing, and amenities such as towels and *yukatas* (Japanese robes) are provided. Regarding the food, although there are several set-menu options, we were simply given whatever was left, and there was no choice at all for breakfast. It was a complete culinary shock—it wasn't clear how one was supposed to eat such a large number of small, varied dishes. We were served a mix of sauces, vegetables, and soups (three different soups during the main meal), with a combination of flavors and aromas that were, at times, quite difficult to consume. Breakfast was even more challenging; while the intention was to showcase a traditional Japanese experience, the staff—perhaps due to limited English proficiency—did not clearly explain how to eat everything. As for the rooms, the situation is quite poor; the hotel is very old and neglected, which is especially noticeable in the guest rooms. I would not recommend this as a top choice, nor would I return, as there are surely other options that offer a better *ryokan* experience than this one.

Wonderful ryokan just by the station in Gora. You can get traditional Japanese dinner service and breakfast. You can also get your own onsen tub on the balcony, which I had, and which was great. The room I had was semi traditional Japanese style. The futon bed wasn't directly on the floor but on a platform. This is a must try. I can really recommend this place.

The air conditioning was hard to control. I ended up just turning it off because it got too warm. The property is nice but needs some repair in some areas. I enjoyed the private tub and the onsen. The staff was very professional, polite and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable overall. The hotel food is okay.

Had a high corner room with view. Very clean. Hotel provided a lot of amenities for use during stay. Chose to experience local restaurants for breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend Gora Brewery for dinner. Hotel staff very helpful with suggestions and guidance, especially Shohei at front desk.

The hotel itself was perfect, very clean and well maintained. I had a small issue during my stay, but the manager handled it quickly and professionally. The staff were amazing, super helpful and accommodating. They kindly allowed me to check in earlier than expected, which I really appreciated. I also accidentally left some of my belongings in the amenities room, and they safely kept them and returned everything to me. The manager even personally apologized for the minor inconvenience, which showed great care and attention. Overall, the level of service truly reflects genuine Japanese hospitality.

We had a great experience staying here. With breakfast and dinner are provided with kaiseki style, it was prepared properly and organized. Staff are kind and friendly. The room has tatami mats and very clean with outdoor bathtubs. Although the facility is kinda run down, we still enjoy our stay. The train station is just next to the hotel and bus stop is right outside the hotel. We will stay here again next time.

Felt like had traditional design elements and a beautiful hotel. Enjoyed the private hot springs (no reservation required). Good selection at gift shop. Enjoyed the complimentary samue loungewear, yukata wrap, hanten jacket and geta sandals. Breakfast was a good selection of different food items. Restaurants around town very busy, hotel has option to make reservation and eat dinner there.

Amazing onsen hotel/ryokan, it has multiple choices of public and private onsens to enjoy aswell as a bath on the balcony. We were in a Japanese room with tatami mats and a stunning view a lovely way to end our honeymoon and was also left a gift with a note wishing us a good honeymoon. I had a great time in the public onsen it was so relaxing with a mix of hot spring baths, an ice bath and sauna. It was a great first experience to have in a public onsen not too busy with it being a part of the accommodations. My wife has tattoos so wasn’t able to go in the public onsen as we forgot to bring coverings, but because they had a choice of three private baths she still got to experience all of them which were all different although we did have to wait 10 to 20 mins for them as they are often full. It is on the doorstep to the train station and train up to the ropeway so is perfect. I’d also recommend visiting the open air museum, park and pit stop brewery and pizza bar round the corner as little side experiences we got the Hakone pass which made the time there a lot easier.
