The best area to stay in Hacienda San José is within the hacienda itself, as it's a private estate offering a singular experience.

The hacienda is located in the Andean foothills, providing a peaceful and private retreat. It's a large property with extensive grounds, including working plantations and gardens. The main building, a beautifully restored historic-era structure, houses the guest rooms and common areas. Guests can expect a refined setting with elegant furnishings and attentive service.

Couples seeking a romantic getaway will find the hacienda ideal. The secluded setting, coupled with opportunities for private dining and leisurely strolls through the picturesque grounds, creates a truly special atmosphere. You can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while still experiencing high-quality amenities.

For those interested in exploring the local culture and nature, the hacienda serves as an excellent base. They often arrange activities such as guided walks through the plantations, cooking classes featuring regional cuisine, or horseback riding on the estate.

The best time to visit Hacienda San José is during the dry season, which generally runs from June to September and again from December to February.

During these months, you'll experience more sunshine and clearer skies, making it ideal for exploring the hacienda's grounds and the surrounding Andean landscapes. The weather is typically pleasantly warm during the day, cooling down in the evenings, great for enjoying the outdoor activities on offer. This period is particularly good for couples looking to enjoy hiking, horse riding, or simply relaxing by the outdoor pool with stunning views.

Conversely, the wet season, from October to November and March to May, brings more frequent rainfall. While the hacienda remains beautiful with lush, green vegetation, outdoor activities might be more restricted. However, for those who appreciate a quieter experience and don't mind occasional showers, the wet season can still offer a peaceful retreat.
