"What a fantastic small hotel in an amazing old building. The staff were all incredible! Lovely buffet breakfast, and always a bonus when there’s Prosecco included! Fantastic location with loads of great restaurants virtually on the doorstep. I would definitely revisit. We had room 101 which has a great little balcony with comfy chairs overlooking the atrium. "

More bombs were dropped here in a single month than were dropped in London during all of WWII. Recently opened to the public, the underground Lascaris War Rooms played considerably into the changing tides of WWII – the success of Operation Husky (invasion of Sicily) represented the first steps for the Allies in taking the European mainland. Dwight Eisenhower and several other key Allied officials took residence there to co-ordinate offensive strikes in the Mediterranean. For any WWII buffs, this is a must stop.
