Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Garbarini?
The best area to stay in Garbarini is the historic centre, known locally as "Garbarini Vecchia".

This neighbourhood is the heart of Garbarini, perched on a hillside with narrow, winding cobbled streets. It's characterised by traditional Ligurian stone houses, many with colourful facades, and offers stunning views of the surrounding valleys and the Ligurian Sea. The main piazza, Piazza del Popolo, is a central gathering spot, home to a few local eateries and shops.

For couples seeking a romantic and authentic Italian experience, Garbarini Vecchia is ideal. You'll find boutique hotels and charming guesthouses tucked away in quiet alleys, offering a sense of seclusion while still being steps away from local life. The area is great for leisurely strolls, enjoying regional cuisine, and soaking in the picturesque surroundings.

Families might find the accommodations just outside Garbarini Vecchia, closer to the main road, more convenient. These areas often offer properties with a bit more space, easier parking, and quicker access to the coastal towns and beaches.
When is the best time to go to Garbarini?
The best time to visit Garbarini is during the shoulder seasons of May, June, September, and early October. These months offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and a more relaxed experience compared to the peak summer months.

During May and early June, the Ligurian landscape is lush and green, and the temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 18Ā°C to 25Ā°C. This is a lovely time for coastal walks and exploring the hillside villages without the intense heat of mid-summer. The sea is also starting to warm up, making it suitable for swimming towards late May.

September and early October provide a similar experience, with warm, sunny days and average temperatures between 20Ā°C and 26Ā°C. The sea remains warm enough for swimming, and the grape harvest season adds a local flavour to the area, with opportunities to enjoy regional wines. The crowds from August have thinned out, making it easier to enjoy popular spots and find reservations at restaurants.
