"Check-in was slow as usual. There's a fast-lane for those of us who had checked in online, but it was getting used as a general lane. The person checking us in needed to know who we'd booked with (why? It was all paid, and I'd already checked in online). Next he asked my name, but then said 'No, no, no.' I was sure I was right, but he was sure I was wrong. But then he found me on his computer screen and it turned out that I did know my name. Staff were exceedingly pleasant and helpful, especially the dining area staff. Top marks. Queues at busy times (buffet style) but the food was fine, though not spectacular. For the cost of the meals, one could have a lovely table service meal in a restaurant but if all-you-can-eat appeals, it's not bad. There's plenty of car parking spaces, but lots of white vans parked - and long-wheel base vans take up at least two spaces, and sometimes more if they are wide. Dedicated parking spaces for vans would be useful. At night, it can be hard to find a nearby parking spot but the coach car park always has spaces. Overall, cheap and very good value for money and I do recommend this venue without hesitation."

"We have stayed with Great North Lodges previously and always find the properties as described and in good locations. Usually we have been impressed with the standard of accommodation but were disappointed on this occasion. Two of the bathrooms in the house were not clean and had fallen into disrepair. The bathroom in the twin room was unsafe and the shower door fell off the runner. Additionally the kitchen ovens were dirty. The hot tub is showing its age. GNL response to an email however was quick and we had a property management agent come out and clean that afternoon. The property had clearly not suddenly deteriorated and the maintenance needed has been poor. The owner is clearly more concerned with income and not interested in maintaining quality. Hope this review changes that for future bookings. The location has always been on my hit list and booking way ahead was needed. I would recommend still but watch out for further reviews to see if maintenance has been done."

"A super house - it’s our second year staying at the Neuk. A few negative points: .. the house needs a good deep clean ..some items missing- a pan for the large brush, oven gloves, a small kitchen knife ( only very large knives which are difficult for cutting fruit etc), ..this time there was no dish washing liquid, and no dishwasher tablets - not even 1 to start us off. Perhaps if the latter is not to be supplied that should be made clear before arriving, as it’s difficult to clean dishes after first meal on the evening of arrival at 4pm! These are all small points which could be easily addressed. I hope so as we plan to be back again next summer. Thank you."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. House was spacious and had everything needed to cook for a large group. We played lots of games in the evenings having taken them with us. Only downside was as was wet for most of trip very difficult to dry anything. Ie after watersports trip."

"A great location to explore all the adventures the Cairngorms has to offer! Very friendly staff who greeted you with kindness. The breakfast offering was great especially as I am gluten free. My room was well equipped and the bed was super comfy. Being on the side of the road my room rattled a little when a big vehicle passed but not a huge issue! A lovely stay and would look to book this again!"

"Good choice for a family holiday..6 adults and 2 kids and it didnt seem too small due to layout of the property. Excellent bedrooms and bathrooms..very modern and clean. Kitchen area looks onto lounge and dining area ..gives good separation while keeping all included. Only fault was a dishwasher door that closes sharply so beware.!!...hopefully now fixed."

"Wir haben eine sehr schöne Ferienwoche in der Unterkunft verbracht. Die Wohnung liegt sehr zentral in den Cairngorm Mountains. Viele Wanderungen, Aktivitäten sind in der Nähe erreichbar. Direkt in Aviemore gibt es viele Supermärkte, in denen alles erhältlich ist, was man so braucht.Negativ zu erwähnen ist der Zustand der Küche. Diese ist sehr mager ausgestattet, die Töpfe waren defekt und die Ofenbleche stark verdreckt."

"We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The spacious dining and kitchen area is a real highlight, creating a lovely social space for family and friends. The location is excellent, with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. We would happily recommend it."
