I am a clean freak and it was clean enough - not perfect, but clean enough that I was very comfortable. 😊 The decor and design of the place was great - cozy, restful, quiet. The kitchen had all the essentials for preparing our meals when we didn't go to Gaylord for supper. It was a nice comfortable place to relax at after we spent the day cross country skiing and hiking. "This is an absolute amazing place to stay if you are trying to get away! My family and friends have been getting together to go hunting every Thanksgiving weekend for the last 12 years and this is by far the best place we've ever stayed. It gives the feeling of getting away while still ensuring a familiar home notion. The pool table is a fun addition for entertainment. "Everything you need, we rent early November every year, it is very quiet at this time of year. It does need new Pans and Knives, for those who like to cook!"

"Took my son, his friends, and their dads up for a four wheeler trip. The house was great and had plenty of room for all of us. The hot tub was nice too after a long day of riding. I highly recommend this place for anyone just looking to get away or if you like to ride ATVs/ORVs and/or snowmobiles. Trail access is just a couple of minutes from the property and they lead to pretty much anywhere you want to go in Northern Michigan."

"This is the second time my family and I have stayed at this property. We absolutely love it and try to stay there whenever we take a trip to Bellaire. The house is very organized, very well stocked, and has so many fun things to do for the family. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area."

"The cabin is very nice and clean with lots of space for a small group. The only critiques I have are the bathroom seems to have some plumbing issues as the water pressure difference between the bathroom and kitchen is very noticeable, but it is still functional so no big deal. The cabin is very close to other properties, but we stayed in the late winter/early spring so no one was around. It is very very close to a boat launch for Higgins lake (really within walking), very clean and comfortable...

"My family along with two others stayed a long weekend for skiing at Schuss. House was perfect for our stay, enough to do at the house to entertain kids from 9-16. The location is perfect, close to the ski hill and a five minute drive to Shorts. I would highly recommend!"

"The house is very nice in a lovely location on the grounds of Shanty Creek, and it was the right size for our family group. The kitchen was well-appointed and well laid out, which was great, since we cooked all of our meals. We needed a snow shovel, though, and there wasn't one there, nor was there any salt or sand to put on the walkway or steps leading into the house. We'd definitely consider renting this home again."

"Every thing was great except for the beds. The top bunk was so close to the ceiling that nobody could get into it. The full size bed mattress was extremely unsupported. Sleeping was not ideal."

"The location is okay but we were mostly coming to get into the water and go canoeing which we were told there were canoes and kayaks on site and a place to drop in. That is correct however they did not mention the extremely steep incline hill of mud and roots to get into and out of the water and the length of the incline which is absolutely not doable so basically the ploy to get us on site and booked dropped many stars for our family. If I were to just rate the house that was a 4."
