"The big problem was the non-availability of shuttle from Terminal 1 which was the No. 1 reason I booked this hotel. I almost took the wrong Holiday Inn express shuttle before the kindly driver told me that my Holiday Inn no longer had ANY shuttle, not even a paid one. I ended up taking a taxi to the hotel for 8 Euroesd the next day a taxi to Terminal 2 cost $15 Euro for a 2 min trip. Also not much help re transportation to central Frankfurt for some touring (that was another 90 Euros for taxis, my one and only option). The check-in was cumbersome with do-it-yourself filling up a long form. Luckily a staff member helped with that and with one suitcase, as a favor. There is no bell boy available to help and there was no one at the desk in the early morning of the 14th May when I had to depart for my return flight. Likely that's why I got the more expensive taxi. Finally, the room was fine except the lights in the bathroom were too dim for my taste. Also, no room service came by to replentish the in-room coffee supplies. Again only a helpful staff member was able to get me the condiments needed, as housekeeping appears to not be available much of the time. All in all, the hotel was relatively inexpensive and it showed. I would have likely been happier with the more expensive Hilton or Radisson but with better overall service, transportation and amenities. Hence the 3 star rating."

This hotel stay was the only positive part in the journey and we were thankful for helpful staff, the ability to book last minute, good food and good nights rest on a 17 hour layover.
