Although we only stayed one night it was comfortable and with easy access to Edinburgh city centre it suited us perfectly, only negative was no breakfast on the premises.

Five stars!

Our host was amazing and offered true-to-life recommendations on food and activities when asked. The room was comfortable and quiet. We rarely heard others, though the location was full. It was within walking distance of restaurants and attractions. We had a great time.

This property outdid itself with impeccable customer service and the most beautiful rooms. I was in awe. Although a delayed flight resulted in a check in that was later than intended the staff went out their way to accommodate me. I am very grateful with how kind the staff was and how comfortable everything was. I will highly recommend to anyone whos looking for a perfect stay, in a good location for great value.

The property was basic, but clean and comfortable. My room on the back side was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the shower works well, and the owner is friendly and helpful. But as there is no security plate, the door lock could be popped open without much effort.

A lovely place in a handy location

We had a lovely spacious twin room, very comfortable and clean, nice bathroom. A bit of confusion over breakfast - I wasn’t expecting any, as none mentioned when booking, but there was information in the room that said breakfast was 8-9am - clearly an old sign but it wouldn’t take much to remove this and put a new one up. We had no trouble parking in the side street just round the corner, as we only stayed overnight, but this might be more of a problem if you were there during the day because there were restrictions.

Man sieht überall starke Gebrauchsspuren, was darauf hindeutet, dass man schon sehr lange keine Möbel mehr ausgetauscht hat. Teilweise waren diese auch defekt, wie z.B. ein Wandregal. In den Ecken und Rändern der Räume war Dreck und man sieht Flecken auf den weißen Wänden, den Teppichen und im Bad. Das bestellte Babybett stank fürchterlich nach schimmligem Keller, sodass wir es nicht verwenden konnten. Auch nach dem Besuch der Reinigungskraft mussten wir das Zimmer lange lüften, weil es durch diese Person zu einer unangenehmen Raumluftqualität kam. Im Ergebnis stimmt einfach das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht.

Friendly owner

We booked the room with breakfast and the owner informed us she’s not providing breakfast because of COVID (should be fixed on websites). Hotels.com also sent me an email stating that this property is 370m from the castle and its about 3km. Overall was a very nice stay though and the owner of the property is a really nice lady

Loved that it was a Victorian house setting - really interesting, breakfast was delicious and the staff are super super kind and considerate - they really looked after me and gave me great advice of local eats in Edinburgh. I will definitely come back here
