"Rented for my son’s 13th birthday celebration. The boys had a blast! Prior to us arriving, we had sent the host a message asking for the code so that we would have it upon arrival. He said he’d text it to us. When we arrived, we still hadn’t received the code, so I sent him a few texts asking for it. He didn’t call with the code until exactly 3:00 p.m. He said he had sent it through VRBO but there wasn’t a code in messages or the “check in” area on VRBO. We double-checked. As we walked in, the host had ordered 12 sugar cookies from Larry’s, as well as left a card & balloon wishing my son a Happy Birthday! Super nice & thoughtful of them. My favorite part is that you can see the entire dock from the inside of upstairs & downstairs. It made keeping an eye on the kids while trying to do things very easy. The only thing I thought was a bit much: if you want to arrive earlier than 4 p.m., they charge an additional fee per hour! Looking back, I would’ve much rather spent that fee at the inflatable park nearby and then checked in at 4 p.m. I’ve never had a host charge me extra, per hour, for checking in a little early or checking out a little late. There is also a camera on the back porch that points directly into the window by the dining room. We just shut the curtains as soon as we noticed it, but it seemed odd to have it angled in the direction it was. The hosts live next door and were outside the majority of the time we were outside. They both seemed nice enough though."

"We rented the cozy cabin for my boyfriends birthday weekend. It was one of the best trips I have been on. The Cabin was beautiful and the host thought of everything big and small to make our stay relaxing, convenient and so enjoyable. The cabin has everything you could possibly need and want. Our host Tom helped us to find the best places to explore, eat and relax. Our favorite part was cooking a huge steak dinner on the back porch, with the fire pit lit, the deck lights on giving us just enough light for a romantic dinner outside, and ending the night in the hot tub looking up at the stars listening to music on the outdoor speaker. The cabin had all the comforts of home, cookware, fully stocked cabinets with plates, bowls, silverware and a full cabinet of spices for cooking. We went kayaking on Lake Egypt, took a jeep ride down to Fern Clyffe National Park to hike and then drove down through Shawnee National Forest and watched the sunset at Garden of the Gods. Our last adventure was Bjorks Cave to swim in a natural swimming hole with waterfall back in Fern Clyffe park. 3 days of paradise in the most beautiful cabin inside and out. Perks for the outdoor shower and dipping pool on the grounds with hammocks and hot tub and a spot for a large campfire too. The bathroom was even beautiful with a walk in shower. We will definitely be back to the cozy cabin and hope to rent both of the units on the property so we can bring our whole family to enjoy it!! 10/10 highly recommend"

"Very spacious house and perfect cove for anyone that doesn’t want to be on the main channel. House had a kayak and lily pad which was fun for the kids, and the water in that area is shallow, which is good if you have little ones. House had everything we needed including a grill, baking dishes, etc."
