"The property was nice and the room was large but having to make a reservation for food at the restaurant was a hassle because no one notified you that every restaurant required a reservation. And the buffet food was not good and cold."

"The check in was good - I ask if they can accommodate me to a room close to the pool & the lobby due to knee issues and I was upgraded to a first floor room with the swimming pool, which was nice. The room itself had some issues. There was a foul smell in the restroom. I could not get the hairdryer to work and the phone stopped working. I could not dial the reception area.. The buffet food was OK. I would suggest making reservations for the fine dining. Though I had an issue with the reservation’s the front desk book me for the wrong date, got to the restaurant and I was denied, even though a party of 7 had just cancel. The outdoor activities could have been more accessible in the second pool near the beach. I believe they lack that in the outdoor activities- which I also suggest they should have something going on every hour per the hour even for the older generation. The entertainment show at night was good. Drinks were excellent. Staff were very friendly. Overall, the stay was good."

"Had mixed expectations because of some reviews but enjoyed the resort and would definitely go back. Party vibes for sure so don't expect quiet esepecially if you're in the rooms closest to the beach. But there were quieter areas of the resort. Pros: 1. Great view from balcony of ocean view rooms. Beds were comfortable and room was cleaned everday to my satisfaction. 2. Plenty of space in the pool, swim up bars were convenient, and beach was beautiful. 3. Staff was nice and worked hard to accommodate us. We only went to the buffet and the selection was good. The local dishes were best. 4. Lots of guests having fun at all times of day. PACHA club and beach party on Sunday were fun. 5. Resort grounds were well maintained. Cons: 1. Room's sink pipes leaked on the bathroom floor but maintenance was quick to respond. A/C temp was not controllable and could have been slightly cooler during the day. 2. Sports bar's TVs are too small. 3. After dinner food options are limited. 4. Swim up bars close at 6. Expected at least one to stay open late. 5. Gym was way too hot. No fan and couldn't feel any A/C."

"★★☆☆☆ My husband and I stayed at Lopesan Costa Bávaro from April 27 to May 4 to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. The resort itself is beautiful. The pools and beach were great, and the food exceeded our expectations. The steaks at the restaurants were fantastic, and the restaurant staff provided excellent service. Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by an issue at check-in. A front desk employee named Daniel told us multiple times that we needed to purchase the Adults Only upgrade to dine at El Asador restaurant. Based on that information, we paid for the upgrade. Later, we learned from other guests and front desk staff that El Asador is available to all adult guests without the upgrade. Had we been given accurate information, we would not have purchased it. Despite raising the issue at checkout and through multiple emails afterward, the resort refused any refund or compensation. Great resort, disappointing customer service when an issue arises."
