" We stayed at Malia for our anniversary and had a great weekend there. The front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a bigger room, and they surprised me with chocolates and a balloon. We had dinner at the restaurant, and it was delicious. The next morning, we had breakfast, which was also delicious, and later enjoyed lunch by the pool. The service was 10 out of 10—excellent!"

"This hotel was fine. It was a convenient location. They let us check in early (with a 40$ fee) since we had arrived hours before check in. There was a 13$/day resort fee that I didn't see when initially booking, but it is possible I just overlooked it. The room itself was interesting. The bottom of the door looked to be cut crookedly allowing about a 2 inch gap for hot air and bugs to come in (we blocked with a towel which worked fine). The bed was comfortable and clean. There was no overhead light so it was hard to see clearly at night without the bathroom light on. The TV had only 6 grainy news channels and no streaming services or phone casting options. The bathroom was very clean. The AC unit was amazing! We were excited to use the outdoor pool (which looked very nice), but upon walking up, we noticed there was a chain on the gate that locked it making it inaccessible to guests. The breakfast was very disappointing. The waffle maker was rusty, handles were loose and it didn't cook the waffles all the way thru; the syrup was in an unmarked clear bottle sitting on top of the batter container (which I didn't like not knowing what type of syrup it was). They did have eggs and protein options that were good, and they had a couple cereal options, but overall, most everything was unlabeled which is a little sketchy. The staff member that checked us in was kind and helpful. Overall, if you don't plan on staying in the hotel much, this is a good affordable option."

"Misleading listing I booked this expecting a normal hotel/resort. It turned out to be a timeshare-style property, which I didn’t mind—but it should have been disclosed upfront. I called ahead to confirm a late arrival and was told my room would be ready. When I got there around 10–10:30 PM, the property was clearly at capacity. After waiting, I was told there was no room ready—even though I had just confirmed it. What really bothered me is they charged a $150 deposit before confirming a room was actually available. After another delay, they found a room—but it wasn’t what I booked. I reserved a large two-bedroom unit and instead got two separate one-bedroom units connected by a shared entry. They also said the room was recently remodeled. I don’t believe that—there was visible mold in the toilet. I even have photos. The bed was comfortable, but I was so exhausted it’s hard to judge fairly. Right after check-in, we were directed elsewhere for a parking pass and “gifts,” which felt like a timeshare pitch. I declined. The next day, I raised the issues with a different staff member. Everyone was polite, but there was no real resolution—I was told to take it up with Expedia. We paid for two nights but lost a big portion of the first day due to the delayed check-in. The room was livable but very basic—minimal towels, toiletries, and supplies. Overall: misleading listing, no room ready after confirmation, deposit charged without availability, and cleanliness issues."

"Our stay at Calypso cay was excellent. Our rooms were very spacious and clean. The Jacuzzi as well as the washer and dryer in the rooms were great amenities. We will definitely be back"

"The room was clean and beds comfortable however, you have to request housekeeping 24 hours in advance and they will only come every 3 days. Breakfast was good. The pool, kids room, playground and lake were all very different than the pictures appear. The staff also do not answer the phone ever."
